Trouble in the hen house
THE relationship between Roosters coach Brian Smith and skipper Braith Anasta is strained to breaking point.
With Anasta set to leave the Roosters for the Wests Tigers in 2013, there has been tension between the pair, heightened in recent weeks as the Roosters slumped to back-to-back losses.
The drama came to a head when Smith "hooked" Anasta at Brookvale last Sunday in the dying minutes of the loss to Manly.
Anasta is putting up a brave front, refusing to criticise his coach, but he is known to be fuming after copping several fearful sprays from Smith in front of the entire Roosters team in recent weeks.
Significantly, Anasta did not attend last Sunday's press conference after the loss to Manly, with the club sending veteran fullback Anthony Minichiello in his place alongside Smith.
"The players all like Braith and are filthy with what is going on," one of Anasta's team-mates said.
"We have struggled for the last couple of weeks, but to single one bloke out like that is just wrong."

I hope this is true, I really do.
If Smithy is pissed off with Anasta it shows he's more concerned with performance than playing favoutites. And it's a good way to get the captaincy off him and to relegate him to Newtown.
Thank you Phil.

The same voices he heard in his head about us getting the Stewart brothers and every other rumour he has made up about us.
Please pass our sentiment onto him maz4car.

That "quote by a player" sounded exactly like when a tabloid quotes "a source close to the couple said Angelina is very cranky with Brad and last night they slept on opposite sides of the bed".
As if this psychopath would know anything. I met the online editor of the Telegraph the other week while at work. I remarked to her that Rothfield hates the roosters doesn't he? She replied "Yes, he sure does".
Now that fellow-penners, is a real quote.
