  • Another match that WON'T be going straight to the pool room.

I'll take any win with both hands, but why do they continually put stress on my dicky ticker?

Same old litany of injuries, sin bins, dumb arse mistakes and poor tactics.

And when will someone lodge a formal complaint about the referees?

Any time your team scores 40, you have to think they played a blinder, but to concede 34 points takes all the shine off the result.

1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

    Very concerning at the moment.
Normally we start our run going into the finals in better form but it looks like we are falling away

Two weeks in a row we have allowed teams back into the game by fringe top 8 teams, if we play like that against the Storm or Panthers they will embarrass us.
It's great to be getting plenty of points but letting in plenty is a concern.

I know there will be plenty blaming the refs as usual but I think we had a god run there tonight, he even thought the bunker reversing the decision on the captains challenge towards the end was wrong by the way he rolled his eyes.

Take the win. Wonder what Manu's charge will be?

They won which was the objective - 30 points and 2 from the bye next week puts them on 32 points

          Run home
          • Eels
          • Titans
          • Raiders
          • Rabbitohs

          Injury and Judiciary issues

          • Nat Butcher - Ribs - TBC
          • Lindsay Collins HIA Protocols
          • Fetalaiga Pauga - PCL - TBC
          • Joseph Manu - MRC - Usually a player sin binned is facing a grade 2 charge as a minimum - 1 to 2 matches ?
          • JWH - Back Round 25
          • Michael Jennings - Back Round 25

Concerning the defensive lapses are simply awful it’s not across the board certain players falling asleep not making the extra effort, Gus was huge both ends Walker also Manu was quiet first game back after 5 weeks I’ll give him a pass Terrell May was massive again 38 tackles zero misses 15 Hitups 130 meters in 65 mins.

I think we really need the Bye… feels like the team is running on fumes. They still manage to win which is great, but we’ve lost the Bondi wall big time.. hopefully they can reset and refocus their D for the next game.

We don’t have 80 minutes in us and haven’t since the first year we won it with Robbo.

Meeeh... another one where we got the 2 despite the game being messy as fark for soooo many reasons. I'm gonna take those 2 wins, the bye and 3rd place as it's a pretty darn sweet place to be. Shyte game but it was a fix and we still won, which is gold.

What's hurting me is all these random as fark, 3+ week suspensions!!! Any farking hint of high contact seems to get binned + 3-5 weeks. It's annoying because refs seem to have 3 valid options:

                      1. Ignore it and the MRC will too as they usually only review stuff that's 'on report'... or has been reported to them by Fox / Ch9 (common for most teams).

                      2. Award a free kick for something we'd get #3 for. No 'on report' (i.e. instruct the MRC to ignore it by not bothering to charge the player) and move on (most common when it's not).

                      3. Every. Single. Faaaaarkin. Hint of a tackle being 1mm above the shoulders (particularly when they fall into it or contact is made with somebody's chin AFFTER the initial contact as they are falling)... faaaarking budda boooom! Send-off or sin-bin. See you in 3-5 weeks mate!!! No point appealing as the 'tribunal' (aka NRL's internal disciplinary team) have been instructed to follow suit.

I call BS. It wasn’t the ref who ( for the second d week in a row) let a dummy half barge over and/or went to sleep and left a gap for an edge runner to walk in for the first two tries . It’s our defense we need to tighten up. We get bad calls from refs, but we all get good calls, either way we need to defend whatever is dished out to us instead of focusing non ref decisions. We have few errors in our game which, if attended to, will negate any advantage the ref may gift the opposition.

Also, for Jennings to get 2 weeks off for a good hard tackle with imaginary head contact, and Olam to get only 3 weeks for a really nasty direct hard shot to the head, highlights the inconsistency and farcical nature of the bunker/MRC/NRL.

                              Yeah fair points.

Our attack is the best in the game, and that's something to be celebrated given recent years trying to hit a groove.

But our defence has become very untidy and lacking good shape and technique that have been Rooster hallmarks. Who is our D Coach?
