Foxsport is reporting that RCG has been given permission to negotiate with other clubs but they wont be contributing to his $750000 a year contract.
I think that would be a sticking point for the Chooks to have a look at him.
So with JWH moving on we have Collins, Leniu & May as certainties so does Whyte then become a frontrower & not a lock or are we banking on the Va'a brothers to step up?

Would this be our best forward pack & bench next year

    Collins
    Cheese
    May
    Rads
    Gus
    Watson

    Leniu
    Whyte
    N Butcher
    ?????
Will it be Steep, Va'a brothers, Foketi or Egan Butcher

That forward pack & a possible backline of
    Teddy
    Toops
    Smith if fit
    Toia if fit/Pauga
    Young
    Sandon Smith
    Walker

is certainly nowhere near as good as the side this year.

I havnt seen him play but if he lined up in the centres next year I know which player opposition teams will target.
We learnt a similar lesson with Jaxson Paulo. Has all the physical attributes of a good winger, and can score a try with flair. Cannot defend to save himself. IMO even less chance a union convert will be able to defend to an NRL standard.

A bit of a saving grace with marky mark, is that he has played 15 a side rugby most of his career, the Olympic 7s was just a fortunate piece of timing.

RCG would be perfect for the Tigers!

No room for Marky Mark in your backline? I can't see him playing Reggies and wouldn't be surprised if he plays 1st grade this year.

Not sure he makes this year but I think a few are underestimating him. I watch both forms & the 7s was just an Olympic opportunity, but he was a certain starter for the Wallabies & would have been for the next decade if he stuck around. The bloke is far stronger than Young, Toops etc so can stand up in tackles & ball play. He would be a far better ball user/passer than any other centre/winger in the comp. He has a great fend & pass, quicker than JS,can step with the best of them & is a strong tackler. Yes the finer details, intricacies he will need to pick up but he has all the ability & I am certain he plays more 1sts next year than Smith/Toia combined over the next 2 seasons.

Attacking wise the guy has definitely got it. Defensively, let’s just say the very least he can’t be as bad as Dom Young

Unless he becomes a tight forward or Nat Butcher, Gus or Rads get injured I dont know about that.

No chance unless a combination of 4 of these guys Manu, Suaalii, Sitilli, Pauga, Tupou, Young, Jennings & Toai were out injured or suspended. It would be defence suicide to play him in FG without an offseason of wrestling IMO.

Wong is tracking the same way that Whyte did. He had a few games here and there and then was made to earn his stripes and play consistently in NSW Cup. His time will come.

                        Definitely
You can be the best athlete in the world , it still won't help until you gain the experience to defend an edge at NRL level.
Joey S is a great example.

RCG @ $750K. He has won the lotto ffs.

I have more optimism about Marky Mark than most. I think he has an X-Factor about him in attack. A big, strong runner, has a pass and kick in him. He is the same size as Manu. He looks like a Group 1 throughabred. If he can handle defence then he has a big hope of playing NRL next year and would be massive for us with who we are losing. At 23YO I don't think he is here for a holiday and would be happy just playing reggies.

I think they’re mainly focussed on getting him into the system ahead of time. I can’t see him playing NRL this year.

Just to be clear I like Wong but havnt seen enough of him to know whether he has the goods or not.
If he is an edge forward he is behind Gus, Rads & Nat Butcher going on this year.
I dont know if Watson will stay at lock or become 14 next season but say he stayed at lock then Wong has to wait for 1 of the other 3 (Rads, Gus, N Butcher) to get injured to get a start.
If Watson goes to 14 & Rads goes back to lock then Wong would probably next cab off the rank.
Losing JWH will then have Collins, May & Leniu as certainties with I would say Whyte as the 4th tight forward unless Wong becomes a tight forward.
So if everyone is available I dont think he makes the 17 but in saying that it would be a miracle if there was no injuries so yes I think he will get his chance.

Seen the photos and a quick vid of Marky Mark dressed in his Roosters gear yesterday and he definitely looks the part.
looking forward to seeing him play.
