TBH I’m surprised he got 4weeks, chrichton was being a grub and rubbing his face all over flanno, no reason to be doing that at all, and got what he deserved for putting his nose in someone’s mouth. Flanno wasn’t holding him down on himself that Crichton couldn’t get away.

Absolutely correct. For a start Crichtons first movement was to slam Flanagans head down- if he got knocked out Crichton would have been done for a head slam. Then his second movement was to push his face into Kyles and his nose ended up under Kyles mouth guard. Im 100% sure Kyle had no intentions of biting.....but at the moment the Doggies are the NRL golden team and Crichton the golden boy

Bit surprised by the general consensus of replies here (and by that I mean legitimate posters, not the 1 or 2 stalkers I seem to have) supporting Flanagan, I thought biting was a big no no.

Also strange that a defender is prohibited from using the ball carrier ducking or falling into a tackle with his head as an excuse to downgrade charges and penalties..

But if a bloke has his face on yours then it's ok to bite his nose as he had it coming.

4 weeks is fair imo.. at least they got the consistency part for biting. Wighton got similar for biting Gamble, despite his complains that Gamble shoved his forearm into his mouth..

It’s consistent with other bites.
I actually hate the rule. I don’t think any player over the last 10 years has set out to bite another player yet the penalties are way over the top.
the dogs captain was grinding his face into Flanagan’s face and his nose went into his mouth. He bit down…

does anyone else think these penalties are way too severe ?.
