No Ballet Championships - The Australian Dancesport Championships are on December 5 - 8 2024- we are going to a performance of the Nutcracker in early December at the Joan Sutherland Theatre - set to Tchaikovsky’s melodies

Latrell has a few ballet moves in him though - somewhat nimble on his feet

There are so many levels to that question

From merely drunk and lowering the threshold for inhibitions …….
to more habitual use for reasons like childhood trauma, nihilism and defiance disorders. These are a dime a dozen in footy teams.

It’s a psychological paradise for shrinks.
Look no further than Joey to determine that the most unhinged are often the best players.
It’s up to great coaches to nurse them through until their use by date expires, clubs ditch them and then the player has to take personal responsibility that has been often deferred for years.

In saying all that I marvel at Cronk, Slater and Williams who kept there shit for so long at the top level.

I personally admire Angus Crichton enormously for facing his bipolar diagnosis head on and playing the best footy of his career.

Agreed mate. Don't wanna dox but most of the kids at my old school who used drugs on a regular basis had access thanks to parents (often public figures who you'd have guessed are users) viewing it as being a foregone conclusion that their kids would experiment (often part of their desire for their kids to be rock stars / creatives).

Glad my parents were 'boring' and kept me away from that sorta shyte.

I was brought up by 2 very straight catholic loving parents who never touched drugs or had anything to do them. In their day there were no drugs. My older brother & 2 sisters never touched drugs but I was different, I had confidence issues, I hated myself & met young guys that I thought were cool who took drugs.
My parents did everything in their power to help me but I didnt want their help.
Did I learn a hard lesson?
Yes
Did I tell my 2 kids not to take drugs?
Of course I did
Did they experiment with certain party drugs?
Of course they did
Its the childs personality & friends they meet not the parents that are responsible if kids dabble in drugs.
95% of people who dabble in drugs do not go onto being fully blown addicts like I did.
95% of people who drink alcohol dont go on to become alcoholics.

I'm working in an industry at the moment and deal with drug addicts every day. Looking at your guesstimates I would add that 95% of full blown addicts don't make a full recovery like you have though. I hope I'm wrong of course.
