I recall Commbank has also had drainage problems as well as playing surface ones

Controversial Allianz Stadium pitch under investigation

Allianz Stadium officials have conceded Friday night's swamp-like surface was not up to scratch with an investigation now open into the $828-million venue's drainage system.

Parramatta captain Clint Gutherson described the field as one of the worst he had played on, after 11.5mm of water fell in 15 minutes before kick.

It left Parramatta and Sydney Roosters players drenched from the opening minutes, with large puddles of water evident across the entire ground.

The surface at the two-year old stadium looked significantly worse than suburban ground Brookvale Oval, which also copped a deluge on Friday night.

"Prior to kick off on Friday night, Allianz Stadium received 11.5mm of rain in 15 minutes as a severe storm hit the area resulting in a drainage issue during play," a Venues NSW spokesperson told AAP.

"This is a brand-new stadium and it shouldn't have happened.

"We are taking this seriously and have already commenced a thorough investigation to identify the cause to ensure the issue is rectified.

"The review will be completed by the end of this week and further updates will be provided."

Ground staff have a fortnight until the next fixtures at Allianz Stadium - an NRLW-NRL double-header on September 1.

The ground is also set to host at least one finals match next month.

Allianz Stadium is built with a gravel and sand layer beneath the turf to assist with drainage.

However Friday night's issue appeared to be at surface level, given the age of time it took for the water to soak into the grass.

The initial turf at the stadium in 2022 had come from Windsor after flooding in the region, prompting concerns over silt levels which has the potential to impact water flow.

But AAP has been told the turf at Allianz Stadium was relayed again last summer, following a series of off-season concerts at the venue.

You should schedule a meeting with the powers that be and put forward your arguments.

Friday night coverage after the match is far superior to fox, actually Fox don’t do any coverage after the game.

I'm a swinger. Depends on who's commentating. The insight you get from Slater, Johns and Smith is very interesting. 3 of the best in the modern game. Gould has his moments too. I can't stand Ennis! Voss is a winker.

Kayo is great for mid week replays and NRL 360.

When I was playing footy I used to love it when the ground was all wet & muddy.

Have yiou been to the swingers club in Surrey Hills?

The Couples Club is situated in the Surry Hills suburb of the city (about 2km south of the CBD) and is a council approved sex-on-premises venue.

There might not be any chandeliers to swing from but there are plenty of play spaces.

Originally opening over twenty years ago, the venue is one of the country’s oldest and best known swingers clubs.

Set up like a nightclub, a recent facelift saw the installation of some state-of-the-art sound equipment and an upgrade to the rest of the club. Often described as an indulgent fantasy heaven for swingers, members can enjoy the spa, adventurous play equipment and the comfortable yet elegant bedrooms. Two orgy rooms provide plenty of space for group play and there is plenty of room to socialise in the bar and lounge.

Single women only during peak sessions (Friday and Saturday, 9pm to 3am).

There is no need to pre-book and the venue is not members only. Admission is charged as follows:

Some evenings have themed events running so do check the website in advance.

Note: The club is a BYO alcohol and there are no credit card facilities on site.

226 Commonwealth Street, Surry Hills, NSW 2010

A properly installed drainage system should handle that in well under an hour.

The plumbers who installed the system have some explaining to do.
