  • Club confirms Brandon Smith has minor calf strain

Not great news with finals only a couple of weeks away it is also the second calf strain for Smith this year, as we have seen in previous years with Manu these repeat calf strains tend to blow up at the wrong time.

The Sydney Roosters Squad has been assessed following the Club’s Round 24 NRL match against the Eels.

Connor Watson was taken from the field for a Head Injury Assessment (HIA) in the 14th minute of the match. After being deemed a Category 1 HIA, he will undergo the NRL’s mandatory 11-day concussion stand-down.

Scans have confirmed that Brandon Smith suffered a minor calf strain, and will commence rehabilitation in an effort to be available for Round 25.

Dominic Young was removed from the field as a precaution and has subsequently been cleared of any recurrence of his hamstring injury.

There were no other injury concerns for the other players that featured in the match.

    Have to wait and see

Radley to Dummy Half Perhaps? -Sandon stays as 14

People may call the following minor injuries but they can take a long time to actually heal as recurrences are always the risk with calf and hamstring injuries for instance including full tears

Let it google that and it will tell ya!

I hope BSmiff gets back on deck in a hurry. He was coming good at exactly right time.

The King googles a lot of things but he seems to have a good handle on what's going on with our young up and comers

Hopefully Brandon smith isn’t out with Watson allready out
that was smiths best game for a long time last weekend
if both out presume sandon smith with start and they may use rads at 13 or Conner role to cover for a week
especially with Nat back along with sitili and Wong

I’d be betting Rads stays on the edge, he has been killing it. Probably Sandi gets a run or they promote a NSW cup player.

Had an excellent game last week, a shame. I'd rest him this week, calves flare up easily. Have him fresh for next week or two.

Unless your Google is broken, you can look it up yourself. While you’re at it, you could get all the info and goss on the Atlanta Braves to share with our wonderful footy community.

I'd keep him rested, we won't need him to beat the Titans, rest him this week and hopefully he's fresh for finals.

The team said the same thing when he last strained his calf and he missed a couple of weeks.
