Yep, really.
It does beg the question, what actually is our best 17 right now? Billy Smith was planned to be left center, with no starting spot for Suaalii. Given what Joe has achieved this year, has that now changed?
If Watto is available next week, and there are no new injuries or suspensions, does the ‘Best 17’ count end?
A fit and firing Billy Smith ahead of Joe imo. He'll need some time to to get his match fitness and confidence back.
Joe for yardage. Billy offers more in attack. He has a nose for the try line.Last edited by Bates; 08-21-2024, 01:55 PM.

With Watson out I would have moved Radley to lock and Butcher to an edge. Satili over Whyte only because he can play in the centers.
If we play them through the middle we will be far too strong. The Titans will try to get us on the edges like Melbourne did.
Roosters by 32+ as their season is over.

Billy’s form in the 2nd half of last year was so much better than Joe’s form at centre this year. I’d slot Billy straight back in once he blows the cobwebs out in NSW Cup if his form is good.
What's our list now?
1. Teddy
2. Toops
3. Sua'ali'i
4. Manu
5. Young

Jenko, Pauga, Billy, Marky and Murphy.
Meh. Hope we don't need him but I suspect that he'd be ahead of the rest in that list (plus King/Toia). Could be VERY useful if there's injuries/suspensions (which there will be).

Manly second try at 2 min 20 sec.
Tell me where this is Leniu's fault then tell me why this isn't Whyte's fault.
The one aginst Parra he clutches at air.
He has played well for us but he has some defensive lapses particularly in some of our soft tries.

If JWH doesn't understand, someone should explain it to him...so that he understands clearly.
...that if he stuffs up between now and the end of fhe GF...gets binned or sent off and costs us the chance of winning the comp..."Jared love will very quickly turn into Jared not-so-love".

Give some of the retirees one last game.. Jennings, Napa, Sitilli and maybe JWH. and mix in with some fringe young players.
Depending on the results of the next 2 rounds, in all likelihood we will either still be a chance for 2nd place or we will be fighting to stay in the top 4.

We play before Penrith in that final round, so it's a little interesting. If we rested our players and lost, that would give them the opportunity to rest theirs against the Titans.
If we opt not to rest any and win all three, I would imagine the Panthers would also feel compelled not to rest any in their final game, in order to secure the home game week 1.
