JWH will most likely be charged with a grade 2 careless high tackle as similar to Crichton's one - charged previously with a grade 2 careless high tackle 3rd offence - 4 weeks or 3 weeks with the early plea - challenged the grading and lost so he was given 4 weeks.

So what in terms of weeks is he facing - there is nothing listed for the number of weeks players will miss past 3rd offences if they either challenge the charge and are unsuccessful or take the early plea.

IMO what we need to remember is that it's not a court, it's the NRL's internal disciplinary mechanism (basically their HR area that handles grievances). It has no judicial authority and has been given the orders by the NRL's CEO to come down hard on high contact in anticipation of future, US-style mega litigation.

Hopefully the media lobbies them to be reasonable as it's JWH's last season. We know they gave Billy Slater one last game and IMO they'll cop it hard from the media if JWH is ruled out for the season.
