Very unfortunate.
To be selfish IMO is knowing you're going to do something before it happens & its for your own gain but in the case of that tackle it was just bad luck not selfishness.
You dont even see it happen when you're watching the game live plus to Verrills credit he got up & played the ball so there was f@ck all force in it.
Hopefully he only gets 3 weeks.

It’s upsetting to read JWH labelled as a liability and selfish etc etc. He has always given his best the way he knows best. He has won us many more games than he cost us. Even when off the field his presence inspires other players to rise and perform.
I really hope he’s not wiped off and gets no more than a week at worst. The Crichton shoulder into RTS head, who got up wobbling and missed the game , was not even binned .

At half-time they showed it briefly and it looked like one of those academic, front-on tackles where there happened to be some form of contact with his chin.

My hope is that the media intentionally said nothing and will now run a campaign that it'd be farking ridiculous to see JWH's career signed-off under such circumstances.

If it was a blood curdling, reckless tackle that coulda knocked Verrills' head off then ban him for sure. However ending a hero's career in a year where his team's #2 and a premiership threat over an academic piece of verbal masturbation? Fark aaaawf!!!! To me this simply highlights how stupid and reactionary the NRL's HR unit is about such matters.

We copped it with Leniu (who may also be suspended) early on in the season. IMO we deserve some karma here, including Sam V writing to the NRL to say 'this is a farking joke and I don't want my old team mate to be punished... we are friends and there was no malice... Problem is the NRL's all worried about mega-litigation and doesn't wanna be seen to be sitting on its hands over head knocks. Sigh. He's a casualty of the NRL's current agenda, unfortunately...

bunker gets involved to often
refs don’t know what they are going to do then set a precinct when manly had 3 binned but critchon got a penalty and then got suspended even though rts had to go off
then today Teddy got hit high for no penalty, Leniu got chinned late and had to go off with jaiman only on report
then jwh gets binned
I think 1-2 weeks max
If critchon got 1 jwh shouldn’t get more unless loading comes into it

Today’s refereeing and interference from the bunker on marginal/slightly high contact was a complete knee jerk reaction to the missed call in that Canterbury game.

Goes to show how poor of a refereeing system we have when we want to interfere in games because we missed a call in the other games.
