  • Farewell JWH

Well what can you say...I've mentioned before.

Will go down as a great club man..the most capped Rooster ever. Was our most feared player.

But was selfish as all f**k. Not the smartest player to play for this great club. Only took 12min back from another suspension to enforce that view again.

Just when we need him the most just before finals he cant help himself & looks gone for another long stiint.

Has become a liability now which is a sad way to end his Rooster carrer...All the best JWH.

Shouldn't be more than a grade 1 at best, 2 to 3 weeks.

I agree, especially that he was 2nd in & the 1st man made the attacker fall into a lower target

Geez I think this is harsh.. while definitely high it’s not a 4 weeker!

and to call him selfish is a disgrace…. What does he get out of it??? One of the best servants this club has had

          Hopefully he'll be sweet.

The officials today were ridiculous, penalising any tackles that were slightly hard or hitting around the chest. The MRC should show a cooler head.

I think we all know what the MRC are going to do to him.

Why cant he learn to not hit in the head.
He's without doubt a liability now.

He has been suspended for 27 weeks all up in his Roosters career...a whole season.

You would think with the team travelling so good now with finals around the corner he could try to be there when it matters most...& not a spectator in the stands.

He just came back from a grade 2 careless high tackle 3rd offence - so if the previous 2 offences drop off which they do after 12 months then this would be deemed a second offence? - 2 weeks early plea or 3 weeks if challenged at the judiciary and unsuccessful.

15 seasons so less than 2 games a season

I think he’ll go for 4 weeks minimum. Hope I’m wrong.

Will be nice and fresh for the GF.

That doesn't include all the dumb penalties and sin bins that have cost us games in recent years.

JWH has been an absolute legend and warrior for this club but he has also been a liability on the field in recent years both things can be true.

IMO that's part of the issue!!!

What's the difference between a grade 1 and a 'free kick - high tackle'? Answer... the ref chose to put one on report and not the other.

Grade 1's get you a fine and are also stackable to the point where lots of them become an immediate grade 2.

Towards the end of the game we then saw a lazy fark prevent Teddy from putting 50m on the Titans by smacking him in the chin with a swinging arm. To me that's what the MRC's for!!!! Catching that kinda shyte - not getting all academic about whether a 2nd man in on a tackle where a guy slipped into his forearm was a grade 1 or grade 2.

Personal opinion but I reckon stacking aside... if the answer is 'it was a grade 1' then they should have the cojones to say 'well it wasn't a sin-bin then was it?!?!? Punishment served! No charge'. Instead... they'll more than likely upgrade it to grade 2-3 on academic grounds and miss the blatant swinging arm (which is the kinda feedback the ref shoulda received - mate... OTT on JWH and you missed a swinging arm at the end! All good but for the integrity of the game you need to do better!!!)

We honestly go alright without him these days.

Atm all he adds is uncertainty at the next crucial sin bin or penalty he would give away in a high stakes finals match.

Players/fans all want him there...it's over to him now if he maybe comes back for a prelim/GF to help & not hinder them.

They gave him 4 weeks for a good hard tackle last time - this one hit Verrils flush in the head.

His only chance of getting less than 4 weeks is the "Billy Slater clause" - a rarely used loophole to pretend nothing happened to help a legend not spend his last game suspended.

So there is a precedent, but I wouldn't count on it.

I think he may have gone on a season or two too long. There used to be a finesse to his brutality, now it just seems he's trying to prove he's still the big dog in the yard by dishing out hard hits that almost always goes wrong.

Surely the the charge needs to be relative to the crime. I don't think Verills even was sent for a HIA therefore there could not have been that forcefull. Grade 1 and cop a 3000 fine.
