I'd suggest that the fact we're 2nd on the ladder plays a bigger part than anything. We're a team that's worth watching...

After the Dragons beat the Storm, I had a lot of mates who never buy tickets go to watch them get flogged by the Doggiiiz. I can appreciate that there's no point turning up if your team's gonna get belted every week (unless you're a Tigpies / Wahs fan, in which case you probably enjoy a good flogging... wish I could add Souffs to that list, but ignoring their fans [20 or so out at Homebush? Whoooo!] players like Trell and Murray have found a way to skip the last 1/4 of the season coz they're sick of losing).

Unfortunately I'm going to Europe on the 11th of September (holiday + a marathon... yep, tickets are still 1/2 price) so will miss the finals this year. Would love to go to the Souffs game but it's 8pm on a Friday and I wouldn't be able to make it back for work the next Saturday in Canberra. Can we make it a Saturday night home game instead of a shyte fark Souffs home game out at Homebush at a weird hour where nobody's gonna attend? Make it happen! (Alternatively if I could bum a lift there/back I'd be all for it... I'd be getting home at 2am or something though. Sigh!)

There's no way he came up with that all by himself.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

Daily Tele online today...Rumblings at Wests Tigers joint venture.
          Commenters suggesting many things...one being:
"Merge Souths, Easts, Balmain...Parra to swallow Wests, and Go!".

"Merge Easts with someone" never goes away, it's always there.
Roosters are financially sound, near the top of the ladder, and crowds are good...but not according to Tallis, the footy god of many.
Someone at Fox should make him stop speaking untruths.

"Easts Balmain Rabbits", playing in red, green and orange...no thank you.
If we could get a crowd of 25,000 -30,000 or more at the game on Sunday that would be great.
A fine sunny day predicted, 26C, "precipitation 0%".
Warm day, cold drinks, Roosters playing footy at Allianz, celebrating Emergency Services, then our Women's game at 6.30pm.
          Paradise!

It’s set to be a very warm 28 degrees on Sunday. We should see some expansive footy but also a big crowd

Merge Brissy, Dolphins and Titans as they're all bottom 8 and none of the expansion clubs have won anything :P

The Storm's Brisbane's only viable club and it has no fans because it's a fantasy team that the NRL's decided will be popular so long as they let it keep winning. Still hasn't gotten them a loyal fanbase or any junior systems that have developed a single player from the whole state of Victoria. But sure, winning is all so the refs will continue to grace Bellamy's interpretation of the rules each year... grapple tackles or 5 man strips anybody?

Yes, let's merge the NSW team with the biggest home crowds, the most money, the strongest management, 3 premierships in the last decade, and a 116 years history and then... admit PNG to the competition.

                  5. Dragons/Sharks/Illawarra - Southern Sydney/Illawarra/South Coast
                  6. Wests/Bulldogs - South Western Sydney/Macarthur/Southern Highlands
                  7. Newcastle - Hunter/North Coast
                  8. Canberra - ACT/Southern NSW

Oh no, it's Fathers Day on Sunday, family gatherings
                    might keep the crowd down.

Hopefully families can celebrate for lunch or late dinner, and still attend the footy at 4.
