Can’t seem to secure a bench spot, let alone a starting spot, not sure what happened with him since the start of the season, attitude? Or just too many better players than him at the moment?

Impossible to tell. Hasn’t locked down a consistent position in Reserve Grade, switching between 2nd rower, prop and 13. Young Blake Steep has appeared to really step into that ‘next big thing’ moniker, especially as a 13. Very possible he is our long term 13 with Watson as the 9, not sure if Cheese will get re-signed. Don’t be surprised to see Wong go, way too much depth, can field big offers from teams like the Tigers, Gold Coast etc. It’s a shame but unfortunately this is a business, when there are better players they’re going to be played. Then again, Robbo, barring Walker has been unwilling to throw younger players, particularly forwards to the wolves. Fahu Whyte is a great example. Maybe it’s just a case of really locking down his long term position and putting on some muscle, while building him up memtally

I think he will be around for a while yet. The coach did something similar with Nafahu, gave him a taste, then sent him back to NSW Cup to improve a few things and he Wong seems to be heading down the same track

Big wraps on the kid - like Many think he has been out back to res grade to iron things out and hopefully next year or 2026 will be in the 17 full time
robbo seems to have a thing with the younger guys getting a taste and fine tuning in res grade before coming back
we have a lot of forwards but see big things with Whyte and Wong in the next couple of years

Wong has a 92.4% tackle efficiency rating.

Gus Gould rated him the most promising junior player he has seen in years.
He tried to sign both Sandon Smith & Wong in 2022...

Ended up with Jacob Preston & Cassius Tia instead

Wong has been killing it in NSW Cup this year playing prop consistently runs for over 200m & 30 tackles
He is a backrower for sure however

I believe one of the main reasons we let Sitili go was so Wong can have his game time in 2025

With Whyte in the prop rotation, Egan unavailable for 1/2 the season and Sitili gone, Wong will have plenty of opportunities to prove his worth in 2025.

Watson is only ever our back up 9. There is no way he’d be our permanent 9 unless forced by injury.
