  • Lewis Murphy

Apparently heading back to the UK Super League next year - he looked decent enough in the limited games he has played this year in NSW Cup

We are fast running out of outside back options for next season

That's a shame he looked good in his few opportunities, just injuries really hindered him.

Tupou, Young, Marky Mark, Pauga & Tait is probably the deepest any club in the NRL runs for wing talent so I'm not concerned at all.

All the more reason to keep Jennings.

Not good news. Would have loved to seen him get a go in Firsts. Can't beat genuine speed, something we have lacked over the years.

Bit of a shame. I know a lot of backs from the Super League fail, but I think Murphy is a quality player. It makes sense though, as his path into our top grade seems very difficult now, with Marky Mark, Toia and Tait all ahead of him.

Think he would've played first grade with us had he not done his ACL. Real pity, but probably the correct decision for both parties.

Burgess, Hall and now Murphy. All failures who couldn’t crack the NRL.

                Not to concerned
the acl was at the worst timing similar to hall before he came across
can’t get in our nsw cup side the last 2 weeks with gromek, Marky M, toia, smith, pauga and king all in front of him so was a long way down the pecking order anyway

Hall has over 300 tries in professional footy, highest try scorer in test match history. Won't hear a bad word against the big fella. Definitely not a failure.

He did his ACL a week after we signed him and at 32-33, that was always going to be a huge setback. Uphill from there.

Dom Young made it and Joe Lydon was good as well.

Jennings is retiring at the end of the year - Dylan Nappa as well

The Mercurial one the Hutchinator has deceptive pace as you can see below in his two try effort vs Dolphins

Lewis Murphy is set for a return to Super League in 2025 after his name was circulated to clubs in the competition: with St Helens on the brink of a deal to sign the Sydney Roosters winger.
