Yep we lost 2 spine players but we played against 12 men for 20 minutes.
I know Manu was out of position but man he came up with some of the dumbest plays.
The Chooks couldn’t play smart and get repeat sets.

Very disappointing from most of our seniors today.. Manu seemed like a tired player with everything he tried it looked to be in slow motion. I hope he's hasn't lost interest in the game now that he's departing to the other code.. Also very disappointing from Teddy and Keary as well. I've lost count on the number of times where Teddy should've passed unselfishly but killed scoring opportunities with selfish play in not just this game but in the past.. As for Keary, I reckon his last consistently great year was 2019, not only in his extra yard of pace but thinking capacity as well. Sadly the other senior player was sitting with the spectators.. Always loved JWH but he was really needed out there and not be suspended at a crucial time. Finally this game underlined the importance of Sammy walker. Having the greatest for and against was entirely due to his individual brilliance and goal kicking.. Without him I reckon we'd have been well out of the 8, and this game almost proved it.

credit to the raiders - they were great, we were poor. i thought their second try was the product of a great pass but the other 2 were soft - the last one would have been comical if it wasn't disastrous.
once sam went off our attack was awful especially our last tackle attacking kicks.

sportsbet have us at 9/2 to win the comp which might be the worst value bet in town. still, you've got to play the cards your dealt and let's hope we jag a couple more wins

Making the point you lose key players the season isn't over and the Braves players I mentioned are key players - too many on here are raising the white flag and lack any faith in the squad and players that will be called upon to replace players who could be ruled out for the season

Still a very good squad if players such as Walker and Brandon Smith are ruled out for the season

Our biggest spontaneous combustion since finals week 1 2022. Pushing aside the injuries for a minute, from the kickoff we looked off the pace. Our play the balls were slow. Our attack was just side to side block plays. Our defence on the line the few times the raiders were there was dreadful. We looked liked we had no answers for pretty much the whole match. Embarrassing that we are dishing up performances like that so close to the finals. Some of the senior players really let us down, this should have been their time to step up.

If that isn't bad enough, Walker, Smith and possibly Radley won't be back for the rest of the year. A really disappointing turn of events close to a finals series where I thought we had a massive chance to take out the trophy.

We have Sandon Smith and ZDC who are both promising and can plug into our side pretty well. Suaalii hopefully will return shortly and Billy Smith has returned from injury. We could still give the finals a decent shake if we're on point, but we just seem to be so patchy this year, unable to churn out a complete 80 min performance.
