  • The glimmer of hope.

Before I start, I know we are all feeling guttered and extremely depressed.

My point is, we have not beaten Penrith or Melbourne with Walker at halfback. Maybe with Sandon, we have are forced to try a new angle, afresh approach

Hopefully Sualli returns to goal kick in the semis

Sandon has ankle injury sustained in todays NSW Cup Match so not sure how bad that is.

Missing next week and maybe longer for some

Walker - possible ACL- season if so
Brandon Smith- possible MCL - 4 or so weeks
Radley - Shoulder - scans to know the damage and how many weeks out
Nat Butcher - Failed HIA - will miss round 27

Sandon will do a great job if he plays half

I reckon we'll be competitive. Suaalii will come back in. Sandon will go ok and Whyte will add something for sure. Wong was the next big thing, he might come out and carve.

            You never know I guess.

It’s the “hope” thread, so I hope marky mark makes his debut next week if Suaalii isn’t available

We were competitive with the Storm last year when we were missing Tupou, Suaalii, Billy Smith, Manu and Hargreaves. We will be competitive in all of our finals games, and maybe win a few. I think winning the comp will be a bridge too far when all our competition has their first choice spine available, and we've just been ravaged.

I do wonder how the ACL will effect Walkers contract, and whether it makes him more or less likely to stay.

With today's result, I think Penrith might not rush Cleary back on first week of finals. There's little positivity coming out from todays game but I like the fight the boys shown at the end, we probably need the back to wall mentality going into finals.

I thought we played our best last year with Sandon and Keary in the halves. I know Walker is more talented than Sandon but Walker and Keary step on each other's toes. Sandon a better runner of the ball, has a longer kick, and imo plays a better team game.

Similarly, we have looked our best with Watson at hooker.

If we do suffer it will be due to a weaker bench.

We'll miss Sammy's creativity and spark but we can still be competitive. ZDC service from dummy half is exceptional. His scoots are well timed and effective. The focus for Sandon should be early ball to our strike players. Manu is a weapon but he needs good ball. Sandon's running game should create time and space for him.

I have faith in our pack. May to start with Spencer off the bench. Whyte is so close to a major break out game. Teddy needs to show better leadership and keep things calm and on track. Collins needs to go up a gear.

I'm starting to feel better now.

I agree with alot of what your saying. Spencer must come off the bench. He has limited impact starting. I like the Cheese but I was impressed with ZDC last week & today so think we can cover him. Sandon will be interesting. Apparently he hurt his ankle today in Cup, but I'm hoping it's not serious. Rads will be a big out. Hopefully it's only a week or two. I'd even consider moving him back to the middle if fit again.

I heard today that Walker is gonski and we have Dylan Brown - I don't want this to be true but just passing on what I heard from a source that's far more connected than I am.

Worst case, Sammy out for most of next season, if he does sign with Brisbane, may have played his last game with us.
                              If I wasn't depressed enough.
