Fark I hope we beat Souffs...
The good news about this game not really meaning anything (unless the Riff lose to the Titans, which they won't) is that we can try things out.
Blooding Va'a, Mark N (and Dockar-Clay) pre-finals may just be a masterstroke if they come good. There will be lessons for them to learn no doubt but Mark N can carve up the All Blacks' defence... IMO he'll have no problem putting metres on NRL clubs.
IMO we can still win this without walker as we've got the forwards and backs to beat anybody (and Penrith's without Cleary so there's really no excuses!!!)
Watson's (respectfully) been better than Cheese anyway so I reckon it's same-same there. ZDC hasn't been a poor man's option either.
I reckon all we'll miss in Walker's (admittedly good) short kicking game and conversion kicking skills (though Sua'ali'i kicks alright! Too bad he was out last week as we coulda won with him as the spare boot - not that Keary struck it poorly).
If anything I hope the boys rally around the injured players and dig deep during finals. It's farkin' soft if we play like shyte just because Walker, Rads and Cheese are out. As a fan I'm not gonna accept any excuses of that nature and I doubt Robbo's gonna be making them either.Last edited by ism22; 09-04-2024, 03:19 PM.

1. We should always aim to beat our mortal enemy the Vermin at every opportunity.
2. If we lose and Sharks win, then we have to go to Melbourne week 1 and play the Storm
The best albeit highly unlikely scenario would be for us to win, Sharks to win and Panthers lose to the Titans...this way we'd finish second and play the Sharks week 1 at our home ground.

Former Wallabies star Mark Nawaqanitawase will make his NRL debut for the Sydney Roosters against arch rivals the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Accor Stadium on Friday night.
Nawaqanitawase has been in sensational form for the Roosters in NSW Cup to earn a shock starting position in the all-star Tricolours backline.
The Roosters were desperately trying to keep news of his inclusion quiet and refused to reveal the player he will replace in the backline.
The club’s original plan was to hold back the ex-Wallabies and NSW Waratahs star while he learned the finer points of the 13-man game.
However his form has been too good to ignore. He’s big, strong and has a stack of skill and speed. Remarkably he was still playing for Australian rugby last month in the sevens team at the Olympics in Paris.

i'm in favour. i'm happy with toops su joey dom as our 3/4s but if one of them has to miss a finals game then marky has the biggest plus side. we're no longer equal favourites to win the comp and taking a risk with marky, a bloke who's played some big games in the other code, seems sensible
