Like most of the suggestions with your first post Brain....except the bit about Jake Friend.

He is a special player who we should build the team around - if we muck him about and he goes elsewhere we will live to regret it.

Probably but his head for some reason is not in it at the moment he needs a break and I think playing for Newtown will freshen him up - may be he is carrying an injury I dont know he is better than what we have seen and he was our player of the year.Like I said I hold him in high regards and his defence has never let us down in that department.

I would do something really bizarre and play wingers on the wing, centres at centre, hookers in the hooking role.
I know we have injuries and idiots out, but that is why you have reserve grade. Use players in positions they are used to and positions they specialize in.

My fix............Sack Smith & Elliot ,promote Jason Taylor to head coach,all this Jake Friend bashing is farking ridiculous,the team fell apart when he went off,however Mitchell in the side would complement his game.Get rid off all the bludger canoe we need Bosden & Arona back in the team.Anasta has to go ,I would play Pearce at 6 & Kerriliah at 7.I would never pick Peni ever again,give Alofa,Henry,Tupou,or Carney a go as for the centres we shold give Curtis Rona a go if the cap permits.

I agree about about sacking smith and elliott. Although you left out smith's son but I guess that goes hand in hand with smith.

This club has been week when it comes to poaching and signing top notch since Im not involved I can say it now
we couldve had .SBW (twice) , Benji Marshall ,Chris Lawrence ,Jonathon Thurston, Ben Creah , Bennet to name a few and the club chickened out because of media backlash fear ,this goes back to 2003 you can throw in a few more players all those players wanted to come here SBW was practically begging.
Hasler or Bennet wouldnt give a shit what the media think.

You think about it 2003 we are running hot and in the next few years we get these blokes in too slowly replace the others and we are hot to trot the next 5 years as well.

I agree that there isn't anyone good out there available apart from bellamy.

But that doesn't mean that you should just put up with rubbish.

You have got to try someone else at the very least.

Put it this way, if you go to your local restaurant for a dinner and the food is shit, do you still go back there or you go try somewhere else to eat?

I was shocked when we signed Smith for 4 years I thought two and lets see approach would have been better but that signing is Goulds last legacy - so blame him .

There probably is, ie Maloney and (hopefully) SBW for next year and beyond.

This year was always going to be a right off after we derailed last year. Let the young guys get experience in the big league and we'll hit the ground running next year. If we didn't have the dead weight we currently have we'd be 3-4 wins better off atm and we'd not be having this conversation.
