There must be a crackdown of new sorts. Some of the indiscretions Atkins was enforcing last night were random.

- For us he made a looooot of little calls along the lines of 'it's not technically hip drop buuut... it was low and you were third man in if you know what I mean... like sure it's not technically a penalty but I'm gonna call one for dangerous contact anyway just as a warning...'
- Souffs on the other hand just didn't get penalised for a heap of lazy/reckless shyte, which IMO massively spoils the flow as you've gotta play by the whistle. This included both late, swinging arms to the head (I saw a heap go unpenalised) and giving Souffs FOREVER after calling 'heeeeld... releeeee... c'mon Tommy I'm serious bruh... please release him'. There was even a friendly chit-chat with 10 to go where the ref didn't penalise Burgess but was basically like 'dude c'mon... I've been super nice to you and it's allowed your team to catch-up... please just behave for the last 30 seconds'.
IDK. I get that it was their home game and their 'grand final' with Cook and 'the Burgess Dynasty' being the topic of the day. However IMO we got given some pretty ordinary calls and an HIA to Teddy / Watson / Keary from one of thoseunpenalised, reckless swinging arms woulda been the dizzy limit for me.
