I dont think its so much the number of penalties, rather when and where there given. They often give us a few, on early tackles, early in the game when there defence is set & fresh. After that we seem to go long periods of the game without a penalty. The opposition on the other hand, get them consistently throughout the match, nearly always on late tackles , and when there coming out of there own end.
This has always been my bugbear. To many matches are won and lost directly on the back of a referee's penalties. Referees are only human and they all have there pre-conceived ideas. They all listen to the media read the Astonisher - which would'nt help our cause. The game need some kind of contest for possion of the ball ..... and not just base our game around referee's penalty counts.Proud member of the Ricky Stuart Appreciation club - Laurie Frier walks on water tra lal lala lar la la lar.

And you know when the penalty count gets to 8-2 and we're down 30-10, we'll get three in a row on the other team's tryline in the 77th minute to make it look more even.
