Chooks are so easy to run, very little input necessary. Roosters are the ultimate killing machine and they are brilliant bodyguards for hens. Pound for pound I reckon they are the most aggressive and violent animal on the planet. All of them would be sent off in the first minute if they played for us.
We just cannot play our usual game.. hit up through the middle until 5th tackle, bomb a non-threatening bomb.. rinse, repeat (do the same thing with incorrect play the ball next time).
And we almost always give away offside or other stupid penalties when they are behind their 30m lines.
I haven't seen much tries scored by kicking to our giant wingers for awhile.. I seem to remember this happened a lot more often a few years back when we were the top side.
And we really need to stop the tap back because half the time they scored a long range try at the back of that.
Anyway, we got giant wingers in both Tupou / Young.. surely we got the advantage this time against To'o / Turuva.
I actually can't recall wanting to win a game more than this one. Not a single pundit on The Roar, NRL website, Reddit or in the media has tipped us from what I can see. Although, what do they know anyway?
The prospect of getting this monkey off our back, plus sticking it to every person who said we can't win or who have been deathriding us, PLUS getting the hugely valuable week off, is such an amazing thought.
I really just hope we don't go into this game with our usual gameplan. Our usual one-out hit-up power running doesn't work against the Panthers. They condense their line and get too many numbers in the tackles, and do it for 80-minutes relentlessly. We also lack the genuine pace to go around them I think, and further lack the long kicking game to turn poor sets into passable ones. I think they stylistically counter us to a degree.
I would like to see us having a lot of bodies in motion throughout the evening, and options left and right with short passes to stop our forwards just getting endlessly picked off and driven back. I think some second-phase play would also be hugely valuable, and hope to see Spencer shifted to the bench.
I don't recall Manu playing too many ordinary games come finals time, and believe he is due for a big one. I have no doubt he cares a great deal about the club, and assume his lack of recent form is probably due to lack of confidence in that recent injury.
Lots to consider, and lots of narratives. Last game at this stadium, Spencer against the old club (missed the first game), Roosters injuries, have lost 9 times in a row to them, Cleary back/is he fit etc. I still think it's only about 60-40 Penrith favoured, and I don't expect they'll win by much if they do, unless they score a few at the death. Should be a cracker of a game. Roosters by 7.
I'm feeling and hoping that Watson is really going to step up to the plate tonight, and bring with him the X-plus factor. I expect Teddy to maintain his great 24 form. I am hoping that May returns to his best and that Dom is not wearing his SKD gloves.

Manu had 2 fractures in his hand - when he returned playing his grip strength was only 20% of normal - this was a big reason why he was missing "easy" tackles. Hopefully by now it has significantly improved, but it will still be weaker than normal.
Feeling positive about tonight with Sandon stamping himself as the future . All the confidence in him to do the job tonight and guide us to a victory . Only roadblock is the ref I fear , Klein the Clown is our nemesis .
