My bet would be JWH will be on report no matter who is referee on the day,he has unfortunately become a liability for the team..

Why though when he has the option of letting the play continue and asking the bunker if a try's scored. If no try's scored then he can pull it back for a forward pass without any dramas.

He called it too quickly and incorrectly. Not gonna dwell on it as we got smashed anyway but IMO if we saw quick, contentious 'forward pass' calls being made in every game then fans would be pissed off about it. It's not a reffing style that should be encouraged.

Is that right? The whole Rugby League world know it wasnt forward. Listening to Talkin Sport this arvo I was surprised at the amount of rival fans, inccluding Panfers who said it wasnt forward.

Hi Issy, as has been already pointed out by another poster, the bunker cannot rule on forward passes. The on field call by the ref is final and cannot be over-ruled or challenged by the captains challenge.

It was a 100 % shit call that disqualified a fantastic rugby league try and also extinguished a promising, courageous comeback by a side that would have been positioned to possibly stage a heroic comeback at 24-16.

A horrible shit stain of a call clearly made by a ref who has an outsized ego and has displayed a clear pattern of malevolence toward our club, while inexplicably retaining a reputation as the premier referee in the NRL.

The unwillingness of Anusley to admit the failure of Klein to display impartiality and judgement in his deliberate denial of justice over this indefensible fark up, is an arrogant display of the NRL's declaration they will act however they please depending on their business interests and in no way upholding any sense of integrity.

Annesley saying Klein got rhe forward pass wrong - and even Crawley saying roosters were dudded and at a big momentum swing in the game
but he will be back next week
annoying as I remember playing riff early in the year and we had bad calls then too
the one where jwh got penalised for taking out Edwards near the goal posts for the Try out wide was disgraceful and a big moment of the game as well
I know refs are down to interpretation a lot but we seem to continually cop bad ones - and I know all clubs do

we are a way off riff and storm however when we have the momentum and are playing well you really rely on these calls to come your way it at least not be that bad to compete
let’s hope the next few games are not decided by a bad call like this again

I recall in the 2020 week 2 final v the Raiders, we had a late try called back for a dubious forward pass. You will never guess who the ref was.

Im not into refs but Klein is not the top ref.

They were just too good. I’m not going to blame the ref. Thats why our club can’t ever beat the top teams because we don’t address the real issues which is poor discipline, errors, penalties and very bad coaching. We need to let some players go who just aren’t good enough.

Yes, but they need to be given a fair go, which over and over again, Klein has not given us.
