Looking back at last nights game confirmed to me that we dodged a major bullet with David Fifita..
He’s not the type of player we need to beat teams like Penrith and Storm!
The concerning thing for me is we have money to spend but haven’t added any significant players for next year, hopefully their is a lot going on in the background to strengthen our squad with the right players..

let’s throw the chequebook at a 35 yr old who’s almost finished when we have Sam Walker who will be another 10-12 year NRL halfback
this place is hilarious sometimes…
our season was over when Sam went down vs the raiders. Penrith are ELITE and our fifth tackle options and game breakers with X factor are non existent without him

Hunt is a world class creative player but he’s not and never has been an organiser. Just because he is an old doesn’t mean he has the ability to lead us around, anyone who watched the Dragons fumble their finals chances this year would’ve seen that.

Clearly there a few people here that don't understand the basics of footy.
Thurston, Johns, Cronk's of this world would also have been totally ineffective against that kind of first half onslaught.
The game was lost in the forwards, in the middle of the park.
No half can do anything with almost no possession + with their pack being steamrolled like a freight train over a puppy.
JWH, Cheese and Radley would have made a big difference last night.

He steers our team around it’s been blatantly obvious in 2024 and he is the future to our success

Angus Crichton being a perfect example last night, his role last night should’ve been to take a bunch of tough carries (ala Cordner) and then offer a threat close to the line but instead he was trying to create opportunities by throwing reckless offloads 30-40m out from the try line.
I love what Holbrook has done with our attack this year but I think having all players, attacking all the time can be problematic especially against the best teams as you open too many doors.
We are already losing a few attacking players next year anyway, I wonder if replacing them with some more naturally gifted ball runners and support players isn’t better for the balance of the side anyway and I’m not sure we need to spend on the market for that. Va’a, Steep, Sandon Smith, McCathie, Foketi & Toia already all fit that bill and can certainly be moulded into that role at such a young age.
