I would play him at FB in 2026 if the Roosters could get him.

He's go the smarts to get the team around.

Plays both sides of the field beautifully and a neat kicking game as well.

Do we need another ultra creative player next to Sam Walker?

They key to a good halves pairing is they need to be complimentary to one another.

Getting him in RWB would be a coup.
He's so versatile and could play anywhere in the spine really.

Kalyn would dig the Eastern Suburbs lifestyle too.
          You'd agree with that Mickie

He'd have to be bloody smart about it, no toilet cubicles.

You could take him under your wing and school him, mate.

I know some on here say he's coming to the Roosters which was denied this week but what a coup he would be.
He is the best FB in the game.
He's had a lot of concussion issues and is often on the sidelines . A bit of a risk but probably worth the gamble atm.

I'd only consider KP if it was to replace Teddy when he retired. KP best is at FB. I'm still of the opinion that we should go for Wishart at #6.

Otherwise I'm also okay with giving the Sandon-Sammy combo a season or two to develop. Sucks that Sammy will miss so much footy next year. Its set us back big time.

I want us to win the comp every season but realistically I see Robbo using 2025-2026 to build towards a title shot in 2027.

Haha....I think if you had a chance to sign someone like Ponga you don't ask such a question.

Sure you do, who was the last team to win the premiership with two creative halves?

                          Luai has had Cleary,
                          Keary had Cronk & Reynolds,
                          Munster had Cronk & Smith*
                          Maloney had Townsend & Pearce,
                          Thurston had Morgan,
                          Benji had Prince,
                          Soward had Hornby,
                          Lyon had Orford,

I think you could maybe make a case for early Jahrome Hughes and Munster in 2018, but they had Cameron Smith at 9 which was such a cheat code. On the flip side Foran and DCE I wouldn’t call either fundamentally creative players.

The balance of your side can be just as important as the amount of talent you have in your side.

I can see the argument for signing Ponga as a fullback in 2026, I just don’t see the argument for signing him as a 5/8.

Cleary is one of the most elite organising halves in the NRL era, he is not a creative player. His plays predominantly come through his ability to execute from within structure.

Of course he's a creative player - whether your a running half or organising half your still being creative and executing various plays and are not just catching and passing the ball
