arguing that because he made an instinctive judgement based on what he sees he shouldn't be criticised is just drivel. every mistake by players and refs in footy is based on an instinctive judgement of what the player/ref sees. ditto the fact that he reacted immediately.

was he in a good position? not sure about that. he was level with the pass but i'm pretty sure teddy obscured his vision of the ball. he should have left it to the linesman

Can someone please tell me what time in the game it happened? I was not able to watch the game at the time, and have not had a chance to watch the whole replay since. Naturally, this incident is conveniently missing from both the NRL's Highlights and Extended Highlights packages.

Would it shock people to know that Klein has reffed the Roosters more than he has any other team?

Would it also shock people to know that Easts' chances of getting a penalty out of the criminal is the worst of every other team in the comp (and by a considerable margin)?

I wish he was. Then we could be fairly confident that the family name dies out when he does. As it is, he has a son who is also training to be a whistle blower.

I don’t believe there is an NRL conspiracy against Easts. I do believe there is some game management, but this has been going on for many decades and across many sports. You watch the NFL or AFL and you’ll see the umps and refs giving some sympathy decisions to the team being flogged. Just human nature and refs are human.

I’ve got no beef with Atkins, Gee, Carrot top, the Sheila or the bloke who pulls up his shorts up to his neck-his name escapes me. I think they do a pretty good job.

BUT I genuinely believe Klein and Sutton hates us. Our record when reffed by Sutton is markedly worse than when reffed by the above mentioned. However, it is much much worse when reffed by Klein. Almost an outlier when reffed by Klown in a bad way. When dumb and dumber ref us, the script is always the same: Kickoff, if we’re defending, they’ll ping us for offside on the 4th tackle, then a phantom 6A on 4th or 5th tackle. Then maybe another one deep in the tackle count if they haven’t scored. In the 39th minute, he’ll give us our first penalty or 6A to ensure the stats don’t look too uneven..

Then in the 77th minute, if we’re down by more than 2 converted tries he’ll give us a slew of penalties and 6A so that he can cover up the stats that might show a pattern of bias against us. This is not to mention his UNRECORDED decisions throughout the match - a phantom knock on call or an incorrect forward pass call made against us or in favour of our opponents.

And the reason why Klein and Sutton does this with impunity, is because the media and RL community will give us zero sympathy as the majority hate us as well.

Someone mentioned that he thinks Klein is just incompetent. I beg to differ. I think he is extremely biased against us.

I always laugh about the owners of the game when it was a win win for them with post 2019 GF coverage about the reversed 6 again call by Ben Cummins - he couldn’t help himself with the opportunity to disadvantage the Roosters but it was in a moment of self realisation that he realised he would be exposed.
