Sure...they could've played both games on sunday 4pm and 7pm and then roosters get 8 day turnaround instead of 6 day and then both grand finalists get an equal 7 day turnaround. That works!

I assume he was going to play only X minutes and only if required would he have gone back on.

Looks like he had only strapping on his left shoulder -some players are known to wear these Steeden shoulder pads or something similar at times - The Jumpers are skin tight nowadays so most go for the strapping instead
