  • The Hate is real...

As a new Roosters fan, I'm probably stating the obvious to many of you long term/lifelong fans, but I've genuinely felt the hate, the jealousy, the envy, the bias, the slander ...& any other negative angst directed at the Roosters, over the short time I've been aboard on RWB wagon... & it's not just from opposition fans, astonishingly it's very prominent across all media platforms, from commentators, sporting experts, media administrators... so much so, it's quite mind boggling tbh!

There's gamesmenship, there's sledging, there's cheek but those are mild descriptions of the intense hate festering within the NRL. I guess hate from Day1 (in 1908) gives them the opportunity, over a time frame as long as the game has been in existence, to grow such a black-heartedness...

I realise too, the closer we get to the big prize, the more intense the dark forces become, to quickly halt our progress. We have the ability to win games on the field & overcome the sometimes huge odds against us... but the games off the field are a lottery & free for all, for all the grubs to kick us in the guts, even moreso when we down.

Rewatching the storm game, no doubt they are a very good side, but take out the officiating blunders, we are right in it, & could be gearing up for another crack at the silverware... but the "footy gods" have deemed, not this year.

Oh well, what doesn't kill me... makes me stronger. The hate usually reveals a hidden desire & wish, they were us!!! hahahaha...

Yeah PLVO it started to get really bad in the mid 90's after the Super League war. If Easts had joined, as they were asked to, News Ltd would have defeated the ARL and who knows what our game would look like today.

But With Politis, James Packer and Gus Gould all fighting for the ARL we became the enemy of News Ltd and all it's supporters.

Very happy you've hitched yourself to the Roosters. Enjoy the hate.

Mate the Storm unfortunately pumped us. No doubt things would've been different had Walker and the Cheese played. Also losing Collins didn't help our cause. Atkins Imo is a very good official unlike Klown the bias prick with ears.

Welcome to the club mate. . Yep the hate is real. I've basically resigned myself to the fact that anyone in the game who don't support us, are happy when we fail. It can only get back to jealousy, and those half paying attention believe the stereotypes around money and unfair advantages.

The only positive is, when we win, it really makes it that much sweeter as it fortifies the tribalism for us without much effort on our part.

Very relentless from News Ltd, and very real, and miserable to the end.
As Ray Stehr would say Easts to Win.

Growing up in NZ in the 70-80s, life was all about the All Blacks... first nrl experience in 94, watching Dragons at Kogarah Oval... i remember thinking wow the atmosphere was crazy... followed them for a bit until the merger... never really a fan of that as I like tradition! ...first experience watching Roosters at SCG in 2000 i think v Warrz... got free tix from a mate... didn't follow either side... seated right smack bang in middle of Chook fans, i had an All Black jersey on (mistake) & got hammered by the RWB Army... i was actually enjoying watching the Chooks give it to the Auckland Wahz that day... i think my mate gave me the tix, because he knew his team were going to get dusted. hahaha!

Must never undersell the effort put in by those mentioned alongside Ken Arthurson and John Quayle, they saved the game .

We conceded *16 tries in 3 finals game*

Nowhere near premiership material. Don't let other stuff blind you.

We dont have the coach to be a top 2 side.

Every year we are bottom in the discipline & mistakes stats.

There's no dark forces at work.

                            Welcome.
