One good thing about the current exodus is that the long overdue clean out of the old boy brigade is finally happening.

We've had too many old heads for too long. Including the likes of Jennings and Naps. It's like Robbo has been living in the past.

Personally, I reckon Chad Townsend as an old head is a very astute acquisition. Plays hard, takes on the line, and takes losing personally.

I just can't get over this PATHETIC record we have against the top 2 teams. Our semi final campaign was diabolical. Holy s$%t our defense was horrific. As a supporter, is there anything worse then seeing your team get belted.

I thought, Keary, Manu, Jared, Sitilli and to a lesser extent big Joe were all " brothers " ?? - weren't they playing for something ? didn't look like it.

I guess as tragic supporters, we just have to wait and see what unfolds next year.

      GO ROOSTERS always.
We finished top 3, and beat Manly in the finals.
Coach of the Year didn't win the Grand Final.

The Storm could be playing still and not beat Penrith. - 86% set completions and 9 errors - 2.255 running metres - The Storms more resilient defence kept the score close but they were dominated by Penrith who gave them nothing.

Lose by 8, lose by 48, you still lose.

I was also in the sack Politis train, but that was just a little bit of fun

A very wise and generous benefactor to the roosters once told me

              No Nick
              No roosters

              I understood

One thing about Nick, he is no fool.
We are who we are because of him

Gone are the days of 4000 home crowds.
We were almost merged during super league.
All but for the will of that bloke.

If he thinks Robbo is done , then he is done.
I suspect that he thinks that Robbie tenure isn’t over
              My guess:
He can see the 'circus music and streamers'.
              He knows we're rebuilding.
He knows Robbo has delivered him/the Club 3 premierships.
Actual lift the trophy high premierships, including back to back.
It's not like Robbo has been a flop, won us nothing.

I’m always surprised no coach has tried to really mix it up against Penrith. ( I’m talking Walker brother style coaching ) Early kicking to turn them around, cross field kicks inside own half, chip and chase , high rate of off loads .

Seems like if you try to get in a grind with them you have no chance, I was hoping Sam Walker with his unstructured play might give us a chance

Wrong. lose by 8 - you had a crack. lose by 48 - you definitely didn't have a crack.

True but he's had pretty handy players.

                    • Laurie Daley on radio said simply: Penrith work you over in the middle, you compress, they then go around you.

I get this - my point is under Robinson we are not capable of doing this. Everyone loses - but it is the way you lose. That is the problem with the mighty R W & B at present.

As Gould said, the Roosters haven't been able to beat the top 2 teams for 5 years, and they are still no closer to working it out.

Fitzy was saying the Sharks were getting closer to beating the big boys in the NRL -mmm last 3 games vs Penrith - 96-6 ( 28-0 /42-0 /26-6) - Week 1 Final vs Storm 37-10

                          The Roosters were closer

24-10 and the forward pass ruling - not forward - should have been 24-16 and game on - momentum killer
24-18 vs Storm - Storm score a try after regaining possession from not only a knock on but by a player in an offside position - Should have been a Penalty to the Roosters instead of the Roosters being behind 30-18 - momentum killer

Be giving Penrith more possession though if kicking early including speculative cross field kicks and chip and chases - Penrith are a high set completion and low errors side and a plus 50% possession side.

Parramatta have been successful vs Penrith with high off loads numbers and forwards back through the middle and quick play the balls dragging Penrith defenders in and then going wide when they have the numerical advantage ( attacking players vs defenders)

Since 2020 - Parramatta are 5 wins and 5 losses during the Regular season and 0 wins and 3 losses in Finals vs Penrith.

issue with the Roosters is that they didn't start playing decent until both games were already gone - that to me points to coaching, the game plan didnt work so they started playing off the cuff to catchup

Gee you are hard task master. He's entering a season with 5 good players leaving the squad and a further 2 key ones injured until perhaps June and you say if he fails he should go. What metric would you consider a failure? I would say making the 8 in 7th or 8th would be a success with the roster now...
