Holding your hands up in a structured, salary capped team sport like rugby league/NRL and saying that you can't compete because a team is too good is a pathetic attitude. This isn't an athletic competition influenced purely by physical attributes or unassailable physical or mental advantages. It's a team sport with evolving rosters, rules and tactics.

Whats made even more pathetic is that despite the above, teams do have advantages over others and we are one of those given that we have some of the most talented players in the comp playing for us. Perhaps I am overrating our players as some on here say. Ok great, if that's the case, get players that are some of the most talented players in the comp.

I keep saying it, changes are needed. Not saying a change in coach per say, perhaps a change in attitude. Accepting 1 in 24 record and sitting still whilst Penriff make a mockery of the comp is not good enough. 3rd is not good enough. Using the rationale that 3rd is good enough because there are crap teams in the comp and "we could be like xyz" is also not good enough.

Can't win it every year (apparently Penriff can) but to not be able to lay a glove on the winners is a disgrace. 3rd has more in common with last place than it does first, because like last place, running 3rd in this comp wins you fk all.

Of course people don't expect a premiership every year...well I guess now Penrith fans might.

But what's expected from a club like ours is to narrow that gap & not see it widened. The excuse Penrith is just too good & we cant do anything is ridiculous.

Why isn't Penrith/ Melbourne constantly bottom of the penalties & mistakes conceded stats year after year? They are human...not robots.

The finals performance of *16 tries conceded in 3 games* should have been the last straw & seen Robbo turfed out along with his 1 - 24 record.

Now he has the convenient excuse of rebuilding to hide behind for 2025.

Trust me Robbo supporters...the sun will rise every morning & life will go on when he's gone.

We allowed 78 points in against Penrith and the Storm this finals campaign

Robbo has proven he basically can't beat those teams as 1 from over 20 shows

Are we a powerhouse? Or do we want to be content with just being in the finals in a comp where 50% of teams make it

It is absolutely beyond me how anyone can defend Robbo these days. Not just him,but recruitment, strength coach etc etc.....it's not working

Supporters quote the points we score etc against the lesser sides...who cares when the two dominant teams make a mockery of us

I've never been happy to settle for mediocrity....no one who follows this club should have to

What would you consider a successful season for Trent Robinson next year?

Ivan’s managed by to out Bellamy Bellamy by building a juggernaut out of a few key players and making stars out of discards.

Tonights game plan of attacking relentless through the middle to exhaust the Storm was phenomenal.

Hate to say it but I’m done with Robbo and we didn’t even play.

Bring back Fitzy, Robbo to a Phil Gould coaching director position.

Bring over Nicho or Politis gets Ponga.

Otherwise we’re the cusp of the dark ages I fear.

Hynes has crumbled in every big game he's played in.

And if Robinson wasn't our coach there would be a dozen NRL clubs lined up to sign him, delusional talk thinking he would step into a coaching directors positon.

I’d love us to be more competitive. We’re witnessing a once in a lifetime footy team. These Panthers are the best that have ever done it. When they won their second I said they’d win 6 this decade. And it could be even more.

Agreed, its easy to romanticise about the option not taken but for me Robinson is one of the best coaches in the league, I'm yet to see a convincing argument as to why he should be replaced.

3rd & a prelim given we lost our halfback and hooker 2 weeks out from the finals is a good result.

Take then 7 & 9 out of any finals side this year and they're not doing any better.

Past performance is no guarantee of future performance. Trobbo's success last decade has what relevance to the changing game which he is unable to adapt too??

Since 2020 Bellamy has won a comp and made one of the best GF's ever.

Trobbo best since 2020 is a absolute flogging in a prelim final.

Even Souffs, Parra & the broncs have make a GF...and guess what...all 3 teams have sacked their coaches as they have DESIRE to reach the next level.

Trobbo has less achievements since 2020, yet is still there...go figure.

I don't think he gets off Scott free.

IMO he is the best roster builder in the comp, therefore he also deserves criticism for the roster management of next year.

We have known Suaalii would be moving on for 2 seasons now, with the risk of Joey Manu leaving and Billy Smith's record with injuries Robinson has no one but himself to blame for the position we find ourselves in with no obvious starting centre pairing. He will need to coach his way out of that mess.

Similar with Tupouniua and JWH, one was our decision and one we knew was coming for a long time. If we fall short in the forwards that's on Robinson.

Where he gets some empathy from me will be the halves and 9. An ACL to your first choice 9 and 7 is just rotten luck, his ability to develop Sandon and Elliot next year whilst embedding Townsend only to switch the pairing up mid way through the season once Walker is back will be crucial to our success or failure. The issue at 9 is a little easier to manage but it will be interesting to see if he dips into the market, backs one of his youngsters or asks Watson to play there again.

I just want to to know those who want him sacked think is a fair finish so the goal posts arent moved next year.

Not really, I thought our goal line defence was pretty good. Just that we spent too much time defending our goal line, a lot of the time self inflicted.

I also don't believe we ranked last in all the important stats that wins you games consistently but happy to be proven wrong. What are those stats you consider important to winning games?
