    But you still lose.
4th in the Olympics you don't get a medal.
    You come home empty handed.

Yes of course but there's the thing about having a dignified crack & having pride in the jumper & showing your fan base your up for the fight.

Conceding *16 tries in 3 finals games* is woeful...inept actually.

Especially with 5 players leaving who you think would have huge motivation to have a respectable last stand together.

Now who would you point the finger at in that situation?...or would you wave the white flag which is the much easier option?

      • We all love the Roosters. We all have different opinions/ideas. All good.

Let's just hope there is a huge focus on defense in the off season.

        Happy days to all.

I can't see us winning but we'll be competitive.

Other than Suaalii it might not be a bad thing those players have left.

The score late in the second half was 24-18. The Roosters were definitely having a crack. The next scoring opportunity was a knock on by Melbourne to a player in an offside position and the next play was a try to Melbourne. At 30-18 game over. There was going to be no next week and the 48 points was now meaningless.

I'm starting to look forward to the rebuild. It's exciting!

It was a game of footy and not the little big horn

Can you explain how the Storm with the best team and best spine were no match for Penrith in the GF? Penrith never got out of third gear, and Storm had no answer to Penrith's Boa Constrictor game, which of course no one else has either for 4 seasons.

Most would pass judgement when the team has played a fair amount of games to gauge how the new season may pan out.

Not a so called rebuild year - it's a year of opportunities with positions up for grabs and top 30 spots as well - Roosters have 22 players confirmed for 2025.

As Brooklyn Dodgers fans would often say " Wait 'til next year "

At least at the Little Big Horn General Custer & his men had a crack to the final man...didn't fly the white flag & roll over cheaply.

Can you explain why the Roosters with current & former Origin & International test players in their team would leak *16 tries in 3 finals games* & look really inept?

How can 2025 not be a rebuilding year when the departure of those 5 players equates to something probably close to or over 1000 1st grade games.

A baseball quote I would use for Robbo's inept 1 - 24 record with no end in sight would be...""Life is like a baseball game...when you think a fastball is coming..you got to be ready to hit the curve""

Also probably not a good example to bring up history.

The comparison isn't kind to Robbo in learning from past mistakes & not repeating them over & over again.

If they played again next week Storm might have got them.

Penrith weren't the best team all season & their game wasn't too good...just today it was.

The true gauge of the best team all season is the soccer 1st past the post.

Just keep flying that white flag proudly.
A team is only allowed to play as well as the opposition lets them. Penriff are a great team superbly coached. Ivan Cleary doesn’t not get enough accolades

Roosters 11 tries for and 16 against; Sharks 7 tries for and 13 against; Penrith 12 tries for and 4 against; Storm 15 tries for and 8 against; only 1 try in the GF.

Penrith have SOO and Internationals across the board—not even the best team in the Storm with the best so-called spine could beat them—Penrith never got out of 3rd gear in what was a pretty average GF, one has to say.

Penrith led 24-0 and Roosters came back—as we all know it should have been 24-16—a dud decision. Storm led 22-6 and then 24-6. Roosters came back 24-18, and another dud decision allowing the Storm possession—should have been a penalty to the Roosters and not 6 points to the Storm. Storm scored 2 late tries in the 75th and 79th minutes when the game was done, which inflated the scoreline.

2025 is a year of opportunities, with starting 13, 17, and top 30 spots up for grabs—could JWH/Keary play another NRL season? - Manu played like his mind was elsewhere, Suaalii improved the last 3rd of the season, and Sitili probably didn't reach the level expected on a consistent basis.

As far as the 2025 season goes, as Yogi Berra famously said, "It ain't over 'til it's over."

Battlefield archaeology shows the last stand was a myth. The tactics of the day were a skirmish line: troops would dismount and form a line 5 to 10 metres apart, and every 4th trooper would hold the horses to the rear for the troops in firing position. Dismounting when up against top-notch light calvary as the Native/Indigenous Americans was not the tactic to use.

They were outnumbered and outgunned, and when the command structure quickly collapsed, it was every man for himself, i.e., they fled mostly on foot—they know this from the forensics done on the rifles and bullets used to track the movement of the US 7th calvary troopers across the battlefield.

7th Calvary had Springfield single-shot rifles and Colt 45's. It was estimated that 30% of the Lakota, Dakota. Northern Cheyenne and Arapaho were armed with Winchester/Henry Repeating rifles, which hold 15 rounds.

When I was there, the tour guide was saying that Custers marker/memorial had been stolen a few times over the years.

Very suprised that the US army would be outgunned by Native Americans...learn something new every day.

Don't tell me The Almo stand was a myth also.

John Wayne was not at the Alamo

The video explains the real story of the Little Big Horn - I have a interest in such battles including the American Civil War visiting major sites such as Gettysburg , Shilo , Antietam , Bull Run . Vicksburg , Chancellorsville , Atlanta for an example -Morbid maybe - also WW1 battle sites and WW2 - Been to Stalingrad now Volgograd for an example
