I was 50/50 on SBW before but now I would take him in a heartbeat.. We are so short of players who can actually create something it is not funny... It is criminal how we have no speed and no creative players in the team... I think Maloney is a solid buy but we need at least 3 more top quality players..

Not having creativity isn't and issue, it's about developing a game plan based upon the squad's abilities. The Dragons won a premiership in 2010 with no creativity.

Smith has acknowledged this and said the team is in a transitional phase but it's half way through the season and I can't say I'm convinced there's been a whole lot of progression. I've been pretty patient with Smith and think a lot of the criticism has been unjust and unfounded based on rumours of poor man-management and unrealistic comparisons to whichever team/coach is the flavour of the month. But this has really irked me, the game plan in 2010 was spot on he got out of Carney what no other coach has to date and really took of the metres his outside backs made and their ability to get quick play the balls but for some reason he just hasn't nailed it yet this year. There's been some signs but nowhere near enough to make me a believer that we're even close to becoming a disciplined team who plays field position which is what we should be aiming for.

I for one am glad we didn't splash out such big cash for TRex or Jennings.

A good coach will add one or two speedsters to the backline, a worker to the pack and we will see what this squad is capable of. Although i think that is still a year off. Smith is doing what he was brought in to do - clear out the deadwood. He will be sent after next season and a hardline coach such as Bellamy, Hasler or Griffin will be brought in (not necessarily those guys but someone with the same characteristics).

Someone mentioned Hasler above - what a great point.

Look at how he makes Kasiano (overweight security guard) one of the top props in the game. Although he still has massive defficiencies in his defensive game, he pushes out very good minutes for such a big piece of lumber. The gameplan Hasler has brought in emphasises his forward pack (which is pretty good) and lets the nuff backs work off that (Barba aside).

Imagine what he could do with our pack with JWH, Kennedy and Tasi playing long periods, as well as Mose not suffering a cardiac after a five minute stint.

It is a shame that our youngsters, despite oozing quality have not progressed much in terms of playing ability. However, i think it is a coaching issue rather than lacking one or two superstars. Superstars have to start somewhere too and i believe we have a couple in our squad that are just in need of some quality coaching.

In the meantime i am very frustrated(just like most of the supporters) at the lack of a gameplan, which causes our backs to not have any room and our forwards running around like headless chooks(not the user).

In my opinion, we could have one of the better packs in the NRL if we played to their strength.

With SBW, don't we have to wait until his manager is accredited before he officially signs any contract?
