Surprise Packet: The Chad. I reckon Townsend will be a steady hand, and a handy leader. He'll create plenty of opportunities.

    Dissapointment: Watson.

Not that I don't think he is good - on the contrary, i think he is - but what i'm saying is I think we've seen the best of him. BY 'dissapointment' I mean that the average Chook fan (erroneously) thinks he has an upward trajectory ahead.

He is extremely fit and energetic, which means he is always competitive, but he is behind par in aspects like passing game, kicking, dummy half work etc. I like him in the 14. jersey only, which is where his positive traits will shine and he will continue to be a great player. But I don't like him as a starter.
I think you’re 100% right with Watson; 14 or not in the team. Probably the best 14 in the comp.

I would love to see Toia have a break out season like Paul Alomoti or Jack Howarth did this year.

I’d like to see Nat Butcher finally have a breakout year; either that or move on.

Knowing Robbo, these young plays like Toia, Steep and Va'a will be lucky to get 3 games this season as he signs some 34 year old in their position.

Be interesting to see how Tyra Ekepati goes - lightening quick

That's a bit of wow. Thanks King.I haven't seen a better mover or running style in the women's game. Sammy B had the smoothest acceleration I'd seen at her top. But this girl combines power, speed and balance that belies the "run like a girl" stereotype. Sign her for life.

I'm looking forward to seeing how that young half we signed from the Cowboys goes. I'm tipping he might get a game or two next season...

We have to hope Sandon or Chad is the breakout star otherwise none of the other backs will fire. I agree Watson is best at 14. Zack Dockar-Clay may be best option at 9. Tyler Moriarty hasn't done much this year. Neither of them have been resigned for next year. I don't see any of the regular forwards improving this year. Collins and Leniu seem to have gone off since origin. Wong seems to have gone backwards from last year but he might be the one to have a big improvement.

dunno, but we've got a bit of talent through. don't know what to expect in the way of results but if some of the guys mentioned prove themselves as first graders then it's good times ahead

Been keen on seeing Toia for a while now.

Also, even though he's played a bit of first grade already it's Whyte I want to see nail it.

                      Our next Taukeiaho.

Nawaqanitawase. If Marky gets his defensive game right, he could by better than Manu.

I would love nothing more than seeing Billy Smith injury free and have a HUGE season. Good luck to him.

He has the look of a pretty special player. One of the few things about next season I'm excited for is watching him perform.

I think his style is more like Sualli based on the one game I’ve seen him play. Either one would be okay.
