One guy that needs to start showing some effort is Setaimata Sa but as Mack has alluded to in other posts, it is rumoured he isn't happy which may mean Smith coming gives him the out he might be looking for. I seem to recall that Sa has previously had bouts of being unhappy and if that is the case and he's a big baby who can't or won't harden up, I don't mind if he leaves the Roosters.
Over the years mate weve had too many contracted players "unhappy" or "homesick" for it to be co-incidence IMO.

Either we target fragile eggshell minded fudgepackers or we pander to mummy boys who need to harden the fark up.

Smiff will bring blokes who WANT a chance. Those blokes, sometimes called journeymen, IMO are hungry cos they NEED a lifeline. Sure they arent as talented but they havent had it handed to them at an early age. Basically they have an inbuilt work ethic due to not being earmarked the next big thing.

Thats what I want to see what Smiff brings, the Yaks of the footy world. Look at what hes done with Ben Rogers for example.

    The FlogPen .

    You know it makes sense.

        Amen brother backwards!

        Even though I'm not a fan of Smith's I'm open minded ...

Ultimately, GO EASTS is all I want and if he brings that back, then more power to him!!!

Sa's has had "homesickness" issues since he arrived at the Roosters as a teenager.

Obviously one of those blokes who just doesn't function too well without close family support.

I can only hope Smith suggests to him that if that's the case he play yawnion in NZ and stop bludging off our salary cap.

I don't think a lot of changes is the answer. The players showed last season that they are good enough. It's the attitude that Smith has to change within this current group. If he is to buy somebody though, I think it should be an experience, workhorse type forward who also has leadership skills. Basically another Fitzy who can mentor the players, especially in tough situations.

Also good point Mack made, I hope he sees the potential in our youth and doesn't release any of them. They are the future of the club and they are very talented players.

Massive cleanout? For mine its not needed, a few changes yes a mass exodus no!
