Hunt will end up at the dolphins… for him to remain in Sydney he’d want a 2 yr deal. I don’t believe we would get him on that length.

Solid player but he can finally head off to QLD. Best of luck to Ben.

And just on Chad - I’ve been keeping up to date with his vlogs he posts on YT. A very well organised, and sensible human being. He is keeping fit and I think he will be a very good character to have around the squad.

I dont disagree with you on Chad - to be honest if Walker didnt get injured, i think he was a good signing for a great price. Gives cover for Walker and Sandon.

That is one thing i do like of the roosters of late - when recruiting, it does seem character matters (we witnessed it with SBW, Cronk, and in another way, Latrell). i think Townsend fits this

2 years is ideally what we'd need Ben for I think. There are no strong halves coming off contract this year or next and we've lost to Panthers/Storm 20 times due to an uncompetitive spine if you ask me. Teddy, Hunt, Walker and B. Smith is a spine that could be competitive with both teams.

Townsend will be a great pick up but I don't think the club is expecting him to play more than 8-12 games next year. Hunt/Walker is the halves combo to potentially win a comp. I do agree though that I think the Dolphins will pick him up.

I would be shocked if we made a play for him… have you not been listening the last 12 months on how Sandon is the future? He showed enough in the final against Manly for the club to believe in him.

If that doesn’t work out we can chase a bigger name on the market in the future.. IE Moses…

T Wishart is the one to snag if we want to consider a half on the market atm.

With Cheese unavailable for a few months and I doubt he will be re-signed after next year then Hunt could fill that gap for a couple of years until one of our youngsters comes through or another dummy half becomes available. It will also free up Watto from our main dummy half. Hunt is also a handy fill in for 5/8 and halfback.
But he would want to be happy being more a dummy half than playing in the halves. Not sure he would agree to that.
Not worth anywhere near his 2025 salary with the Dragons though.

He’s already mentioned that he wants to remain in the halves.

Yeah I wish we could entice him with the strong possibility of a premiership but...

                    I think it’s a strong chance
No walker and smith for half a year
and when they come back he plays 6 if sandon isn’t ready yet or 9 and Brendon smith as 14 to allow Watson to play 13 or 14
we have lost 800 games of senior nrl experience and need to replace it
and we are a better chance then any qld side for a premiership

                      DTele today.
Teddy and walker are done which are the main ones
Brendon smith will need to wait to he gets back in the field but if we do will be a reduced offer or he will head off
                      townsand will retire.
I think we will re sign toia but Egan butch will look for greener pastures
