  • Congrats Naufahu Whyte

Named on the bench for the Kiwi's v Kangaroos on Sunday arvo.

Good luck young man. I'd love to see you take your game to the next level. Hopefully this test cap will inspire you to greater heights.

    Let’s hope so
great to see Whyte in the kiwi squad (quite a few not avaialable) but should springboard him into a locked spot in our top 17 next year most likely off the bench in the front row rotation
also with Wong in the Tonga squad

Great achievement for Whyte who has the potential to be the games best Prop one day.

Was gonna say it's a pretty crazy inclusion given he's currently a bench player for his club (though 'bench' is a funny thing when May, Leniu, Collins and JWH are in your team, I suppose).

That said, he's played a few games at lock. Rads to 11/12 full-time in 2025 maybe. Quiet achiever!

Shirley his 'grabby' defence will be tested, he's been found out at NRL so will be interesting if he 'hits and sticks' playing for the Kiwis

Hopefully the rep experience does him the world of good. He is someone who really needs to step up next year.

This’ll be his springboard into achieving his potential. I look at him as the next SST.

But can he kick goals? speaking of SST it was reported that Manly were looking at him for next year.

I wouldn't be against a 1yr deal, we need some leg drive and a goalkicker

He will be better than SST. Whyte has an offload in him and capable of landing a good shot

He’s a player of very high potential, hopefully he can keep improving.

That’s a big call. I think some people forget just how good SST was, especially in our back-to-back years. From memory he was runner up for the Golden Boot in 2019.

If he can improve his defence and bring a level of consistency I think he has the potential to be an elite front rower.

                          100%

Around that period of time he was up there with the best props in the world, arguably the best.

Nafahu still has improvement to make defensively before he comes into the discussion to crack the starting side IMO.

Sio Siua Taukeiaho's best days are in the past - Time for the youngsters to get their chance to shine at NRL level. Va'a Brothers and Watisoni Waqanisaravi (hopefully re-signed) for an example.

I was SST’s biggest fan when he was here. He was Lolo 2.0 basically. I know he was very good and obviously could knock over some goals too.

However my faith in Whyte is exceptionally high I believe if he is managed well by Robbo and he continues to work hard, he will be right up there as the best in the game.
