Around that period of time he was up there with the best props in the world, arguably the best.

Nafahu still has improvement to make defensively before he comes into the discussion to crack the starting side IMO.
Yes SST was like Taumalolo just not the name and pay packet
he continually put out for the roosters and Tonga and between 2018 to 2022 was one of the top 5 props in the comp every year
he always had better stats then jwh but allowed jwh to lead the side and when jwh was out he stepped up as the alpha male as well
like 2019 pre lim when he took it to NAS when jwh was out

if Whyte is like SST it will be heaven for us I hope he does

but SST is in my top 10 roosters and it was very sad when he went

Whyte appears to be a very gentle soul. I'd love to see him get fired up and play with more aggression. I get the churchy vibe from him. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Whyte reminds me more of Isaac Liu, his strength is his late footwork, runs really good angles in and around the ruck and has a nice swerve. His standard hit up for yardage is stronger than what Liu's was, but his defence isn't as good.

I am a big Isaac Liu fan and I think this guy has a higher ceiling so I'm excited to see what he can do in '25.

Great NZ debut for him. Chalked up 147m, didn't miss a tackle or make an error and played the first 30mins straight.

Personally I'd be starting him with Collins in the front row and be using the May & Spencer as impact off the bench again. Neither of those guys are starter's imo.

Be interesting to see who starts next year without JWH hey! Spencer and May are two of the best in the comp but seem to work better as impact players off the bench.

Robbo's got some tough decisions to make. Front rowers... centres... halves... I hope we've got the goods.

neither Whyte or SST has mongrel. and SST has a bad knee thats why the dogs dropped his contract earlier this year.

                SST had plenty of mongrel
he was about to punch NAS head in back in 2019 off the kick off

Moa could tap into his inner beast. Just ask Glenn Stewart.

Knowing now how he can fight, how I would have loved him to floor that oversized oaf.

What a game from Naufahu last night. He has footwork and lovely ball playing skills that we just didn’t know about… Vossy was drooling over him last night when he was calling the game.

I say keep him as our lock and rads out wide.
                      Excellent talent.

Ah such nice memories. Excellent highlights but the first 30 seconds sets it up nicely. Still the Clive Churchill medalist (Moa) that night in my opinion.

Naufahu Whyte has a lot of promise and he's partly why I'm not too bothered about the club moving Terell May on.

People forget how good SST's debut season with us was too, he was great as a front rower for us but he had a barnstorming season playing lock in 2015 and genuinely gave us a sense of 'SBW who?' it was a season that reminded me of Anthony Tupou's 2004.

We've been blessed to some great front rowers in the 21st century people also forget just how good Jayson Cayless and Peter Cusack were for us.

100% he should be playing lock and Radley on the edge.

As solid as he was for the Kiwis and yes, he would do great at lock, don't be surprised if Robbo molds him into a prop forward ... big + good footwork/mobile and just over time could get some agro as he grows.

It makes even potentially more sense that he could be fast-tracked into that role with May leaving the club any day now as well.
