I have just finished reading a pathetic arse covering story in today’s online Courier Mail (the bronco fans newsletter) that basically attempts to lay all the blame for Ezra Mam’s misconduct onto Spencer Leniu and the incident in Las Vegas. Unbelievable.

Are they going to suspend Spencer again? Will he have to apologize to the pregnant woman and the injured child?
This is the worst excuse since Jake Elwood in the Blues Brothers begged Carrie Fisher not to shoot him:
"I ran outta gas. I had a flat tire. I didn’t have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn’t come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from outta town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake,… a terrible flood…locusts. It wasn’t my fault!!"

The spin already put out by Brisbane media has been a joke. Got to remember this head on clash included a 4yr old girl, her mother and a 64yo man who was doing Uber rides just to meet people and stay social.
The four-year-old girl suffered a fractured hip and has returned to the Queensland Children's Hospital for a follow-up appointment. She is said to be recovering well. The family have booked an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon in a fortnight.
Supposedly the bloke driving the car which has been written off is suffering from anxiety and no one from the Broncos has even reached out to him. Just a thought for the club but maybe instead of gifting cars to unlicensed millionaire players go and gift this guy a car and make sure he's doing ok.

So this dick injures a mother and child to the point of hospitalisation, writes off some guys sorce of income, has tested positive for drug use and is unlicensed.
It will br interesting to see if the NRL suspend him for longer than they suspended Spencer. I feel they may not.
By comparison Sandon Smith should have nothing to worry about.

****ing embarrassing reading anything in defence of Mam at this point in time. His opportunity for remorse and rehabilitation will come with time, there's no need to force it into the narrative right now.

So there has been a cover up already. Old Police initially said "no serious injuries" - but apparently a small child suffered a fractured hip. That very possibly could have a life long detrimental physical effect on her, and, very much unlike Ezra's alleged PTSD over being called a monkey by another "person of Colour" the mother and child run a very real and totally justifiable risk of long term mental health problems as a result of Ezra's unlicensed, drug intoxicated destructive driving.
The über driver who rescued the mother and seriously injured child, who himself was injured, has received no contact or message of concern by Mam or the broncos.
Instead we have this from Sam Thaiday -
"At the end of the day... my only concern is Ezra Mam right now and his welfare."
Yep his only concern, screw the victims of Ezra's criminal behaviour.
If I was him in this exact situation, I would be making plans to spend some serious time behind bars.
Because I don't belong to a favoured "minority" group that feels entitled to special consideration.
