25 players listed - not sure if all are in the top 30 though - Toby Rodwell could be on a development /supplementary list contract ? - max 6 players - 650k - 80k plus 3k per NRL Game.

Can't see Ethan King as being signed by someone else but not listed in train and trial lists posted on this site which is a surprise

Is Thomas a top 30 signing?

The Roosters are pretty poor at updating squads ( players in top 30 or supplementary lists) and even posting squads on their club site whether it be NRL and Senior or Junior reps.

The profile of any player selected in the 22 each week whose profile doesn't exist previously on the NRL squad list is uploaded on the site often without a picture as well- you don't know if they are top 30 player ( promoted to top 30) / on a supplementary list or an extended bench player.

To King Salvo or to anyone else who can shed more light to this please do.
.I am trying to work out how the following system works

            Top 30
NRL's 1st November requirement 25 players to be listed in Top 30,- (Next requirement is 28 players for R1) then (30 players on the 30th June)
(Note Top 30 Minimum wage $130,000/year)

            Supplementary list
            (Maximum 6 players)
Can be used to play in the top grade from round 1 (with following conditions)
            * If you have injuries in a position that can't be filled within your top 30
            * Approval from NRL
(the Supplementary Player is then entitled to $3,000 per game on top of his contract) Max earn is $80.000/year
A Supplementary Player can be elevated into the top 30 if there is a vacant spot

            Train and Trail List
(No limit on number of players on this list)
Only earn $1200/week and $3,000 per game in the NRL,
            l. Can be used after Round 10
            2. Train and Trial can also be elevated into the top 30 if there is a vacant spot

NSW CUP / Junior Reps / Pathways etc
Can be elevated into the top 30 if there is a vacant spot
Can be elevated into the Train and Trial if they qualify
Developed players can be elevated into Supplementary List if they qualify

            -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I guess players on more than $80,000 are either Top 30 or NSW Cup or Junior Reps / Pathways etc (lets say Xavier Va'a who is not on any list at the moment)
Players on more than $80,000 are not eligible for the Supplementary List or if on more than $1200 a week for the Train and Trial List

With the Roosters only needing 28 players for R1 Top 30 squad (only 3 more positions required to fill)
And two more come June 30th
The final selections can be done after Preseason and Trial games for R1 and leave the last couple open and monitor
Maybe the players who are not on any list so far for example Xavier Va'a and Salesi Foketi etc will play NSW Cup or Flegg etc as they do not qualify for Sopplementary or Train and Trial lists and promoted to any vacant Top 30 spot if required.

              Found this on another site

The ST has a story with details of the new salary cap rules under new CBA today. Few interesting points…

              Level of the cap
              2023: $11.05m
              2024: $11.25m
              2025: $11.4m
              2026: $11.55m
              2027: $11.7m

Minimum $120,000 including Super in 2023, $130,000 in 2024 rising incrementally to $145,000 in 2027.

Each club can offer $100,000 on motor vehicle allowance (up to five, valued at $20,000) and has a $300,000 veteran/developed player allowance. A veteran is valued at 10 percent of salary cap value after nine years at one club and 5 percent after 10 years. A developed player is 10 percent of salary cap value if contracted for two or more years before their top 30 contract. I guess that’s subject to the $300,000 cap.

Clubs must spend 97.5 per cent of their cap each year from 2004, rising from the current 95 per cent.

Developed players (juniors) cannot be signed before Round 6 of a player’s final contract year. A developed player is a player who has been contracted for at least two years in junior grades and has played less than six NRL or State Cup matches. This is to help development clubs retain players and give them more time to assess players. (Raiders pushed for this, along with Panthers and Cowboys.)

Clubs must have 24 top 30 players by 5pm November 1. By Monday of Round 1 they must have 28 players in the top 30. 30 by 30 June (no mid season transfers after that).

Development player contracts replaced by “Supplementary list”. $650,000 cap for at least four, maximum six players, paid $80,000, can play from Round 1. Bonus of $3,000 for any NRL game.

Training contracts (train and trial). To rise to $1200 in 2024, $3,000 bonus for any NRL game, can only play NRL from Round 11 (ie after Round 10).

Clubs can promote players aged 17 to top 30 squads but can’t play until age 18.

Top 30 players can seek a release from their contract if dropped below State Cup level.

Relocation allowances outside the cap, eg 28 days temporary accommodation, one way travel for player and spouse, children, one month storage costs, removalists.

Milestone games. Debut, 100th, 200th, 300th, 400th and final games for players who’ve played 100 games and one full season at a club. Transport and accommodation for two family members, 10 tickets, the match worn jersey.

Any games. Six tickets for players in any game day top 18 player, two for other top 30 players.

                28.Max McCathie
                29.Jake Elliot
                30.Benaiah Ioelu

                Train and Trial/Development-
                Enzo Griffier
                Toby Rodwell
                Tyreece Tait
                Hugo Savala
                Peter Benjamin Uini
                Taylor Losalu
                Rex Bassingthwaite

Very Youthful squad, not much depth but certainly some exciting talent. Watch out for Frenchman Enzo Griffier, haven’t seen anyone mention him yet but he could be great. Had a great NSW Cup debut this year, then went to England the week after to make his France debut but got injured for the season, Shame because he would have properly broken out in NSW cup if not.

It's been updated again. Notable changes in Bold. Looks like Ioelu has moved in front of Moriarty.

Some of those may be development and the NRl site hasn't updated.
