What? Robbo can't get a player to play to his full potential! I am shocked.
What were you seeing from him as a member of the spine in Melbourne that you're not seeing from him at the Roosters?

And when you say Robinson struggles to get players to play at their potential what are you basing that on? We've seen countless players leave the club and fail to reach the same levels of performance at other clubs. Michael Jennings, Aiden Guerra, Sam Moa, Isaac Liu, Blake Ferguson, Zane Tetevano & Latrell Mitchell spring to mind.

And when you weigh up the majority of our big signings - Sonny Bill Williams, James Maloney, Luke Keary, James Tedesco, Cooper Cronk & Brandon Smith I think our strike rate has been pretty good in terms of getting our value for money and getting them to play to their potential.

Just curious as to what you're looking at to have come to that conclusion.

To be fair Smith has been very poor since his big 2021 season which was influenced by the over the top stupid 6 again and high tackle sin bin rules, a lot of players who had high success levels that year haven't gotten back to that level. He's out of his depth at hooker and Smith being poor in this very critical role has been a big factor in the roller coaster that has been our attack and then Smith being a dickhead just amplifies the feeling of wasted money if he was a dickhead who played to a high level of football or just an ordinary personality with his current game I doubt there'd be desperation to get rid of him.

Good luck getting any team to take on a guy who probably misses the first half of the season and then has an expiring contract.
No club would even think of taking him on for 2025, not even the Tigers are that stupid, especially when he will spend half a season on the sidelines.
He is on big coin and won't be allowed to sign elsewhere for less than what he is on here.
The only chance anyone would consider signing him for 2025 is if we pay at least 75% of his contract and at that rate might as well keep him.
I never wanted the bloke here and thought it was a mistake, he seems more interested in clowning around than focusing in on premierships.

          SMITH’S ROOSTERS DEADLINE

Brandon Smith’s time at the Roosters could be coming to an end, with Tricolours powerbrokers reportedly unlikely to extend his stay beyond 2025.

That is according to the SMH’s Michael Chammas, who revealed the club could “move in a different direction” ahead of the 2026 season.

Smith joined the Tricolours ahead of their 2023 campaign, but had a turbulent start to life under Trent Robinson, struggling with injuries and consistency.

Smith’s reportedly earning around $850,000 per-season on his current deal, but could be on the lookout for a new club.

“I don’t see him at the Roosters beyond next year. I think they are making plans for life without Brandon Smith,” Chammas said on James Graham’s The Bye Round podcast.

“I hear he’s in a good head space, and they’re happy the way he finished the year.

“But all the mail I’ve been getting out of the Roosters is that next year will be his final year at the club, and they’ll move into a different direction.”

The move comes after news emerged Terrell May was also free to depart the club with immediate effect, being granted permission to negotiate with rivals.

The Roosters have already lost the likes of Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Luke Keary, Joseph Suaalii and Joseph Manu ahead of the 2025 season.

          Good. Absolute shyte signing.

Not sure what thread to put this in, but have also read that Rugby Australia is interested in targetting Dom Young, and that ZDC is looking at an immediate move to the Super League.

It's all happening at Bondi, isn't it?

Young's contract finishes at the end of 2027 that is so long away it's not even worth thinking about it although he is by far one of the worst defensive wingers in the comp with the worst handling so maybe he gets shipped out earlier.

Zach Docker Clay moving on is no surprise not only did he suck but he was in that video and it's no surprise the 3 most recent players to get the kick out the door were involved in it.

I thought he was English. Or is he another Radley who will play for whoever will take him?

The Suaalii experiment got off to a great start!

I'd imagine TV ratings were solid as loads of RL supporters tuned in to watch big Jo make his debut. This would give ARU more confidence to poach more exciting outside backs from the NRL.

I think it's pretty funny how the Wallabies win one test and all of a sudden they think NRL stars should be falling over themselves to switch. That ex boss of theirs with the boarding school name is the biggest laugh I've ever come across

Wasn’t smith saying the roosters would need to sign him as there was no one else a few months ago?
ZDC Would have been handy backup however can see why he is looking elsewhere

They are desperate for a big star ahead of the world cup that's being hosted out here in a few years that's why they went all in on Suaalii, the interest in the sport is on life support and they need something to give it spark in the next 2 years. Australian rugby union is so bad that union fans the globe all over were supporting the Aussies beating England in the hopes that the Aussies get back to being good.

Union is dead to the general public but unfortunately it still lives on with people in high places like politics and media so expect to see the Suaalii media circus ramped up all the way over the next 2 years.

Also it's the English rugby reportedly interested in Dom Young and Herbie Farnworth not the Australians.

                              Short memories.

He was in good form before the injury. And he was a huge loss in the finals.

                              He is a talent.

It is in the best interest of everyone that Cheese moves on. Never really got going in a Chooks jersey and would make complete business sense to get rid of him now.

Despite his injury, I'm sure there are desperate clubs out there who would offer him a multi year deal with decent coin despite him missing the first half of '25.

No malice. I like the bloke but was never a natural fit. Was perplexed when we signed him and it's turned out to be true.
