  • What is "The Roosters way"?

Been hearing about "the Roosters way" & "need to head in the same direction" a bit lately.

What is "the Roosters way"...does it really mean anything these days?...Shouldn't it apply to more than just players?

The way the Angus Chricton/ David Fifita issue played out in the media & Terrell May & Cheese saga currently doesn't represent the real "Roosters way" that was evident between 2013-2019.

I presume "Roosters way" doesnt apply to our standard of play on the field the last 5yrs or the airing of club contract dirty laundry in the media this year.

So what is "The Roosters way"?

Oh yeah...it would also be nice if Robbo could coach the old "Roosters way" again. That seems to get glossed over a fair bit.

Next season will be "The Roosters New Way" courtesy of Mitchell Aubusson and his broom.

Don't come to Bondi for a party. Aubo 306 means business!

IMO "The Roosters way" finished when the likes of Cronk, Cordner, Friend & Aubo retired.

      There's no more old heads.

It's not a tight ship anymore on & off the field.

Can Aubo get rid of Robbo?

It’s a bit like how QLD ‘get their footy on’ and the Storm and Riff play to ‘their systems’. Only difference is no one here sees this as a big deal.

Pretty sure Robbo will have to try a new approach.

It's a universal answer to a lot of questions in the presser after a loss.
Its starting to sound like Gus's 5 year plan.

              Maybe give MRGA a go

On field & off field seem to be going hand in hand now.

Too much media drama these days.

                      Where's it hiding?

In the same place as Bigfoot or Loch Ness monster?

You can't see, touch , or smell it .
                          it's a state of mind.
it's a pinch of courage mixed with sprinkle of discipline , a drzzle of belief and a heap of poached superstars....

As an athlete, I think it's more broadly a way of saying 'we need to stick to the plan and not let them dictate how we play.

Example... if I train to do a marathon at say 3h pace but instead see some dude going out at 2h30min pace and am like 'I'm gonna try to take him' (and keep competing with HIS pace/style instead of sticking to my target pace) then I'll end up running outta gas. And who knows... maybe he will run outta pace too.

We lose our way against 'better' teams. This has no magic meaning or connection with some kinda secret sauce. IMO it simply means that we start playing catch-up footy and playing into the opposition's hand when they get a good start on us.

                              This Is The Roosters Way

On the eve of the 2019 NRL season, Sydney Roosters Head Coach Trent Robinson has given Roosters Members a rare insight into 'The Roosters Way' and a detailed description of what that means.

                              The Roosters Way

"Since 1908, the Sydney Roosters have represented YOU.

The hard-working, the passionate and the proud.

We hear you... We see you everywhere we go.

The red, white and blue runs deep through our veins.

Hard work has built our city and it's the cornerstone of our Club.

We live it... we breathe it.

We work to be better tomorrow than we were today, both as players and as people.

For our Members, our community, our loved ones and our history”
