If recent recruitment and retention is anything to go by, it’s amateur hour at Bondi.

The Fafita backflip (terrible idea in the first place) followed by the Crichton disrespect was one thing.

Then there’s the Brandon Smith fiasco with the Chooks failing to get the best out of an undoubtedly talented yet troubled marquee recruit. Now all the destabilising rumours that were about to turf him. How motivating would that be?

Finally, of course, is the sad sad Tyrell May situation. Break out forward, star of a frankly shite season, player’s player for impact, not wanted because he admits that for a working class lad that while League is a way out of poverty, it’s a hard job that sometimes you don’t want to face.

Robbo can’t handle blokes. It’s clear.

All he does is re-recruit old heads that know ‘the Roosters way’.

    His man management has devolved

Tend to agree unfortunately. We have publicly treated some of our best players in appalling ways this past year .Why would they want to give it there all when treated this way and why would marquee players want to come here seeing what is going on .If this is the crap we hear about imagine the stuff we don't .

Surely JWH, ' our ' coach, Aubo (if he does have a say like reported in the media ?) - and May can sit down and just have a grown up chat and sort this crap out.

Are we interested in winning / challenging for the title in 2025 ?? Hope so.

Sort it out. - Or, the club should be transparent and tell us fans why they have told May he can go. Not that hard - surely ??

I think our retention is fine, out of the players we lost I'm not sure there's a player there we should've kept for the money they are getting elsewhere. Paying over a million for either of the Joey's at centre just isn't feasible. Tupouniua just hasn't developed into the 700k-800k range that he was getting paid and JWH/Keary were just at that point of their career. This year we retained Sam Walker, Fahu Whyte, Daniel Tupou, Sandon Smith, Lindsay Collins, Nat Butcher, Angus Crichton, Junior Pauga, Siua Wong & Spencer Leniu. To say our retention has been embarrassing feels like an emotional knee jerk reaction to the loss of Terrell May more than anything else, it certainly doesn't feel like the rational conclusion. The retention of young guns Rodwell & Rex in particular has been very impressive as well, these two had multiple clubs and sports chasing them and to retain both is very exciting. Throw in Steep & Dell la salle Va'a and you're taking 4 of the best young prospects in the game.

Recruitment has been disappointing, I thought Brandon Smith had been massively overvalued when we signed him and I think the failure of his signing falls on the recruitment of him rather than a perceived inability to get the best out of him. His underlying numbers are very similar to what we saw from him at the Storm when you remove the 2021 covid affected season that was a cheat code for all attacking players in the competition.

He's averaging the same number of try assists, line breaks & tries as he was at the Storm. He's playing as many minutes, we just got sucked in to signing him on the back of 2021 which as I've said was the biggest statistical anomaly of a season I've ever seen. A result of some late rule changes that drastically affected the game.

On the recruitment front I think we can also be critical of the inability to recruit a centre as well, tough market which is understandable but there have been options available to us that would've had us in a better position that we find ourselves currently.

I also don't believe last year to be a shit season, I think again that's a heavily emotionally charged over-reaction. A prelim final and when you've lost your 7 and 9 weeks out from the finals series is the best we could've hoped for. We were comfortably the 3rd best side all year and even after we lost our 7 and 9 it still finished that way.

I find it hard to comment on the May situation because quite frankly no one on here knows the truth behind what is going on or what has gone on, so I think it's premature to make a conclusive statement one way or the other.

            100% agree on every point.

Munster wouldn't fit the Rooster way under Robbo, would he also be a failure at the Roosters?

B.Smith is an absolute dud buy. I’d be doing anything to rid the club of his presence. He plays limited minutes and can’t get his fitness to where it needs to be. Decent hookers can play 80 if required and he simply can’t.

If we want to beat the Riff and Storm, which everyone rightly harps on about, something has to change. Perhaps this is part of that something? We don’t know exactly what is going on with our recruitment at the moment but clearly something is happening. We also don’t know the full details of the May situation. I agree we paid way too much for Smith. He’s not worth that much and it’s a problem that needs to be addressed. Do fans seriously think he’s worth what we’re paying him?

Most of you were happy to kick out Pearce who played just shy of 250 matches for the club in over 10 years for a blow in from Melbourne but telling Terrell May to move on is where the line gets drawn.

Sam Verrills got kicked out to little concern from the fans just to satiate the marquee signing demand and how’s that gone? But Terrell May is where we are concerned. Getting rid of all the idiots from that video would be a smart move.

You don't know much about the Roosters if you think Robbo does the recruiting.

Wasn’t it Docker-Clay and Wong in the video? It’s not like Spencer Leniu had the best year he completely embarrassed the club and the game as a whole in his first game spending 8 matches on the sideline and rarely ever aimed up to the hype since then.

Mate the “Roosters Way” is a whole heap of garbage it does not work eg our lack of performance against good sides. Maybe time is up for Robinson surely this year

The coach is fine. Maybe if we developed and looked after our own players more we wouldn't need to look for dickheads like Brandon Smith and uninterested ones like Terrell May.

Sitili Tupouniua is another one we kicked out recently months after extending his contract where's the sympathy for him
