I don't think it's a coincidence we're seeing two of the bigger personalities and influences from that video swiftly getting shown the door (can't control Smith staying for next year) and I'd be surprised of Docker-Clay features much next year. Terrell May re-signed in April and the magic round incident was in mid May. The team conceded a try off the first set of the game when none of them were prepared for the potential of Hynes to run the ball on the last, it comes across like they were going to wait until the off season to deal with it so they didn't de-rail the season after the racism incident and have the season turn in to some 2009 shit show.

IMO coming 3rd and having our current roster (even after releasing a few players to retirement / rugby) is not embarrassing. Embarrassing is coming runners up one year... then missing the 8 the next with the same roster. That or having to play with a stupid green and red jersey.

If we didn't have a team littered with current & former Origin & International test players & a very experienced head coach then I would agree.

Yeah we came "3rd" but then embarrassingly conceded 16 tries in 3 finals games & looked like a 13th placed team.

We are declining under Robbo the last 5yrs.

Why can Bellamy lose top players year after year but still coach his team to a high consistent level?

Last year the Melbourne Storm came 3rd and conceded 12 tries in 3 finals games, and were knocked out by the Panthers 38-4 in the prelim final.

Why is this considered a "high consistent level" but Robinson gets criticism?

You must be chomping at the bit for the 2025 season to start. Someone may start up a thread with a poll of how many get rid of Coach Robinson threads you will start in 2025.

Storm last won in 2020 and Roosters in 2019, so only 1 year difference to the last premiership.

There is a gap between 1 and 2, you can say too, as demonstrated by a third gear Penrith accounting for the Storm without too much bother in a very dour GF.

Storm, the best team all year with the best spine, were still no match for the relentless Boa constrictor Penrith game style.

No I'm actually dreading next year because I believe we won't make the 8 under Robbo especially with next Year's team.

I wasn't fully calling for his head as such, but then he oversaw that abysmal finals campaign & now with all this dirty laundry contract saga playing out I believe 2025 should be his last year.

Robbo is a shadow of himself as coach these days.

The message is too old from him now....players have stopped listening & a lot of fans have too.

If he was coaching for free i'd have some empathy...but he's not & deserves the heat.

Recruitment - Daniel Anderson is Head of Recruitment plus Clint Zammitt is another in Recruitment - They would have other recruitment folk who travel to scout players for say the academies and junior rep teams and or follow up recommendations from contacts on potential junior players to sign.

As far as NRL goes I would imagine Coach Robinson would be involved in Recruitment and Retention - For recruitment I assume Coach Robinson would identify external players they are interested in signing - Recruitment would contact that players manager and set up meetings and or obtain the players terms - contract length and dollars - Not sure who attends the meetings from the Roosters side if they have these

The hard sell would I assume be handled by Coach Robinson with probably a dinner at his place plus Nick Politis is also known to be involved as well

I have a neighbour who was coaching the under 16's East Campbelltown Eagles side and he pointed out recruitment people from Souths/Bulldogs/Eels/Manly that were at the game and had been at other games - No Wests Tigers though - 4 of his players were signed by these clubs - 1 each and will play Harold Matthews cup next year.

Dirty Laundry: Clubs move players on all the time. Of course it could be done better and kept in house, but that's the way it is. - Look at Ben Hunt and the Dragons saga which has dragged on for 18 months or more.

I trust the views of Mitchell Aubusson, Jake Friend, and Boyd Cordner and suggest this could be a turning point in player attitude/club culture in that players have to be 100% committed to the cause.

Yes I get your point, there is a department. But the Head Coach is all over recruitment. It's his final say. He's the CEO of football. All decisions are on him.

He needs to be Director of Football or something higher up.

Get someone else to actually coach.
