I also think Jayden Brailey whilst maybe not as talented as Cheese is a better fit for our side. Blake Mozer is someone I've mentioned multiple times on here too that I'd go after but given it's all potential there is risk there.

All in all though I do agree that if we were unable to get Reece Robson keeping Brandon Smith on a reduced contract wouldn't be a terrible outcome. He's not an elite dummy half but he's far from the worst too.
Are the Cowboys really getting rid of Reece Robson or is it just that he's allowed to negotiate from now? I'd love to have him but I can't imagine the Cowboys getting rid of the best hooker in NSW that would be crazy from them.

Why would the cowboys let him go?

He's on the open market and allowed to negotiate.

I'm surprised the Cowboys didn't lock him up before November 1, I think they're crazy letting him hit the open market.

Robson is currently on $750k according to Zero Tackle. He must be wanting a significant pay rise hence why he's a free agent at the end of next season.

He's definitely what we need and worth $1mill plus a season imo.

            I hope we get him!

I would love it if we were clearing the decks to sign Robson instead of someone like Ben Hunt but the Cowboys do seem like a tight bunch and Payten has really turned the club around and they are well and truly the team he has chosen by now I'd be surprised if Robson left.

Sam I just want to say it’s been a pleasure having you on here recently. It’s nice to see you making a genuine contribution and not challenging everyone’s comments and opinions.

                Keep up the great work.

Personally, I think it’s quite the opposite. Cleary is the best in the game by some margin, I reckon Edwards and Luai are both better than their counterparts and I think Kenny is a terrific dummy half and grossly underrated. Munster is an overrated Queenslander with huge brain-farts in his game and Pappy is as fragile as Billy Smith.

As to the rest of the team, I think Penrith has Melbourne covered over most of the park. IMO, the only Storm players this year that would have made Penrith starting 13 would be Katoa, Warbrick and Grant.
Storm best team as they finished Minor Premiers after the regular season

                    Spine
                    Storm -1
                    Penrith - 2

Storm Spine - Papenhuyzen , Munster , Hughes and Grant

Penrith Spine - Edwards , Luai , Cleary and Kenny

                    FB - Papenhuyzen over Edwards
                    5/8 - Munster over Luia
                    7 - Cleary over Hughes
                    9 - Grant over Kenny

That is very true , but the one before him was extremely successful

Robson is the better 9 however Wishart can play most positions proficiently. Robson and Papenhuyzen will do.

                          2026 spine

                          1.Paps
                          6.Sandon Smith

Munster is so so overrated. I can't remember the last time he set the world on fire. Luia is the best 6 in the game and then Dearden.

I guess the overrated argument is relative and everyone has their own takes but….

I’d happily have an overrated player of Munsters class running around in RWB. The way he dominated SOO a few years ago were comparable to the great individual performances at that level. Class player, just plays in the wrong colours come June and Oct.

Yes, probably a better longer ROI on the other names you mentioned but if I wanna win a comp tomorrow, I’d probably go Cameron.

Fair enough. He had SOO on a string back then. I'm not sure if it's a form slump or he's getting on but he's definitely not the player he once was. My respect for Luai has increased. He is a champion and a leader of men when required. This was evident when Cleary was out injured!
