Barnett, Cayless, Lomu, Kidwell and Lowrie the main notables over a decade or so (I mayhave missed one or two). Nowadays our squad (and most squads) seems mostly islanders.

I have no idea what to make of this but it is fascinating how quickly the balance has shifted in the NRL.
what does nationality got to do with anything.
Johnson, Marshall, JWH, Uate are islanders.
Nowadays islanders are common in the game

Not sure what the other 1 was trying to say...Was he saying that we're not winning because of the many islanders we have today? If that's so and not jumping to the R word, lets not forget that we've only won once in 37 years. Whats islanders got to do with that??

That was what I was saying. The number of islanders in NRL teams seems to have grown exponentially over the last decade - just an observation. I only noticed it in the Roosters because I dont own the "decade of excellence" DVD of any other club.

I guess if that may have an impact on the NRL it might relate to the significant difference in size (and proportionate speed) which may be shifting the way the game is played.

See above - I drew no relationship to the Roosters results, you did that.

It's a big jump from acknowledging ethnicity to racism.

It could also be impacting the lack of ball players coming through.

Our youngsters are nowhere near as good as Brisbane's, to say so is just stupid. Corder and Moga look good but that's about it.
