  • Big Joseph, man of the match

Congratulations to the kid, went over with the most pressure probably put on any player, and gets awarded player of the match.

always a likeable kid, hope union turns out to be the game that shows what a star he can be.

He (& young Jorge) iced their big moments for a huge upset win vs northern hemisphere powerhouse, England at Twickers!!! wow... hope to see them both in RWB sometime in the future!

He will be a star in Union it's a real shame that we've lost him and I don't think he will ever return to the NRL he will earn way too much money in Union.

Robinson missed a trick by moving him to centre instead of playing him on the wing

Good luck to him. Sad for Roosters fans though.

Happy for him. He’s a good man.

It doesn’t take much to be a superhero in that ridiculous game.

Interesting that common plays in NRL like a pass over the top, or a tap back off a bomb, is considered genius in an international game of union.

Yep, and I think JS had 5 carries for 15 metres.

That tells you all you need to know about Yawnion.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

The one that got away from us is Jorgenson..what a player he will be

Yes absolutely disgusting that Angus would voice his opinion

He killed it. He looked at home out there.. looked like he was loving every moment of it. I think he truly is a union player.

I will miss him. It’s hitting home now that the young fella has left us.

I just watched the highlights. Strange game that RU! I'm still mentally scarred from playing at school.

Big Jo was definitely a stand out. Congrats and good luck to him.

                          This is the post.

Watch him brain it and never return.

You certainly can not argue that we had fast tracked him, allowed him to be an integral part of a winning culture at such a young age and helped set him up with the transition over to rugby union. You can call the Roosters a lot of things, but we will often work within the best interests of the player.
While, this is quite personally admirable, it is not a business structure.

                          NRL is a business.

Happy for him… played well for us, ripped and teared every single time he wore our colours. His effort and resilience were overshadowed by expectations.

People were too harsh on the kid, he is an excellent talent.

Yeah IMO this highlights the gap between the two comps more than anything.

We signed a youngster who played fullback and centre on ~$700k a year as we were hoping he'd be as good as Manu at centre. Instead he struggled to learn the position and had to be moved to the wing (where I still don't think he really shon... Toops is the better winger by far and he's earning unders... shoulda been the other way around with Sua'ali'i taking unders to learn from a club legend while learning the trade).

Not saying he was shyte and obviously people who know better than me picked him for rep teams. However he wasn't a fullback/centre (lacked the skills) and was kinda slow (got caught out a few rimes). He was a work in progress that we weren't even allowed to develop properly as he was either injured long-term, publicly plotting to earn $$$ in yawnion or suspended long-term for a dumb tackle. IMO he did nothing to earn $700k.

Didn't see him play yawnion so can't comment much more other than to wish him the best. If he kills it in yawnion then I don't see that as a failure on our behalf. Maybe he simply suits the comp/game better? Good luck to him. I wouldn't count on him returning and suggest we focus on Mark N as he wants to be here and signed a long-term contract to mark his commitment.
