I'm against it for most of the reasons already stated, but if it means the Paul Vautin of halfbacks (Townsend) is nowhere near out FG Team then I'm all for it.

He'd make a great dual captain imo. Current Australian rep, loads of experience and he'll be playing in the middle. The other positive to Hunt sharing the role is that Teddy is an average captain. It's also difficult for Teddy to communicate to his team mates as he's the last man. This also effects his ability to use his captains challenge effectively.

I'd guarantee you Hunt gets more captains challenges correct as he has a better view of the play.

For the record, I'm convinced it will be a good signing because of major long-term injuries to our 7 & 9, nothing to do with the so called anti-Robinson crowd you refer to.
        Well said.

Just because he's a rep player doesn't make him a good leader or a good captain I'm also not sure how Tedesco is an average captain but Ben Hunt is something to aspire to have? Does a great captain complain about the club he's captain of for years and years and air out the club's drama publicly every chance they get?

Have you ever had a correct take on this platform? The answer is no of course, but just wanted you to stew on it for a second or two. Tedesco is an average captain, with below average leadership qualities. Numerous times when the chips were down this season in big games against bigger opponents, after tries were conceded, the group would be standing behind the posts and crickets were chirping. Rarely see Tedesco try to pry out a response from that group when we are in trouble. Hunt doesn’t shut up on the field. He dictates play. Evokes responses. Which would only benefit our young crop immensely. We need a vocal leader. It hasn’t worked with Tedesco and his way. Leader as a player, sure. But not as a captain. Offer Hunt the co captaincy or give it all to Radley for I care.

Poor Teddy's face has been slapped around a bit in '24 - from State and National selectors as both FB and capt .

We were 40 points better then them this year
the players leaving - none of them shone on 2024
yes we may slip a little back from riff and storm but we were so far ahead of the rest of the comp last year

I can’t agree with that statement, we lost to every top 8 team except for the knights.

We are talking about next year though so what happened this year doesn't matter. We've just lost a ton of players without replacing them while the Broncos actually have a real coach coming in for once and as for the Cowboys they beat us in our own stadium with a bunch of rookies and finished only 1 win behind us, throw Canberra in to the mix too they finished 9th on the same points as Newcastle and they beat us too.

As for so far ahead of the comp we didn't win a single game all year against the top 4, didn't beat the Cowboys and went 1-1 against Canterbury and Manly (regular season) that's not the record of a team that was so far ahead of everyone else in fact it's a record of pretenders. We got 24 points off teams finishing 10-17 and 8 points off teams finishing 1-9. We got almost as many points off byes this season as we did from the top 9 teams.

Now talking about next year, our team has objectively gotten significantly worse with the departures of key players while other teams like the Broncos and Cowboys have at least not gotten any worse. Dolphins and Titans remain to be seen.

Who made you the arbiter of what's correct and what isn't? The fact he's capatained club, state and country would seem to indicate he has some leadership qualities unless everybody but you is wrong.

The best captains are Australian rep players. Their peers respect them as they're the top of the food chain. This definitely helps!

Teddy is a great player but an average captain. He often has that WTF just happened look when his team mates are looking at him for leadership and inspiration.

You're carrying on like we're replacing him which isn't the case. Having a second captain to help Teddy can only be a positive for the team. It would also take the pressure off Teddy which is another bonus.
