Originally posted by redwhiteblue View PostJan, it wasn't just this game. During Monday night football against Canterbury, I was listening to Triple M and Peter Sterling had to stop the broadcast for a minute because angry Roosters fans were banging on the press box. He said "Why are they yelling at us?!" The language was so bad, even Andrew Johns was momentarily stunned. And this is coming from someone who regularly abused officials on the field. Nice work guys..devalue our club why don't you?! Some fans on here complained about Myles, Todd & Willie etc not respecting our jersey, but then the same fans go and carry on like this in public with children around, WEARING THE AFOREMENTIONED JERSEY!
Just like you are having your say like everyone else on this forum.
I am happy, your happy with how the team is performing at the moment.

How they vent is up to them, banging on the window , BFD, akin to banging on a fence when people are happy after scoring a try, i am sure you have banged a table, chair in anger at some stage.
Was anybody harmed?????
Who cares what a coke snorting junkie from Newcastle thinks
DRink a cup of cement and harden the fark up!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like Smithy had too much class to engage the fools. They make me feel ashamed to be an Easts supporter.
Im glad I didnt witness this (like the weak kneed poster above) or I would have been the one in trouble with security.
We're all really scared you ****ing keyboard hero. What would you have done? Cried for them to stop making fun of smiffy?
Smith deserves any abuse he gets.

You ??
We have passionate fans, Big Deal
When they start brawling in the stands, letting off flares and bungers in public or are smashing up trains on a regular basis, i will be concerned.
You are a Drama Queen, nothing wrong with that either

I was at the game but did not see this as I left early. I'm on the side that finds this appauling at first reading and agree with RWB in that this sort of behaviour apart from being unacceptable is brand damage.
Do you feel that these guys were truely threatening Smith or mouthing off as frustrated fools on the drink?Written and published on behalf of the Liberal Party, Queensland

I pay a lot of money to watch a concert but have never ran up afterwards and abused the band.
I pay a lot of money to my landlord but have never ran up to him and abused him.
I pay a lot of money to use a taxi but have never abused the drivers.
Abuse is abuse is abuse. Its about the declining standards in behaviour that some people want to accept or even support.
You can have your say in a myriad of respectful ways at this very accomodating club without behaving like a neanderthal on a hunt and kill mission. Its not that difficult.
You don't earn the right to be disrespectful by paying a membership fee.#We Stand with ourJewish community#

No one was threatening him FFS. 2 guys were holding out their season tickets and asking if he wanted them and they wanted a refund, a group of 4-5 blokes were yelling at him to please sack Anasta ("please ****ing sack Anasta" I believe were the exact words) and another few yelled at him to step down, leave the club, or **** off.
Nothing worse than what thousands of roosters fans are thinking. I see no reason why smith doesn't deserve to hear these things to his face.
Thirteen once yelled out "no more excuses" to Stuart at a post match presentation at our club. It was a raw moment of real passion that pretty much summed up the feeling of the fans frustrations for our coach/club at that stage. This felt the same to me.

Very accommodating club... What a ****ing bunch of bullshit.
Our club is run by a group of egomaniac idiots voted in by a handful of faceless members who spend about as much time listening to fans as they do blaming themselves for year after year of boneheaded decisions.

ticket holder as I can no longer get to the games, this has nothing to do with the
behaviour of some.
I am proud of my team come what may, but I do not condone the irrational
behaviour of abuse & attacking the coaches or broadcasting boxes be it verbal or
physical, that reaction it neither warranted nor in the spirit of the game, by asking
where is the harm honestly do you need to ask?? firstly it shows a total lack of
respect for the Roosters, the supporters who do not behave in such a manner, it
could also lead to physical confrontations between members/supporters or others
at the game.
If you are happy seeing our supporters behaving like thugs & foul language used
then you would be in the minority.
Those who did abuse if found to be member should be banned from the games.
