I look at yesterdays game and i question whether SBW would of made an iota of difference. Every time our wide players got the ball, they had no space to operate in. Our halves halved (hehe) the space for our wide men the whole game.
No doubt, under a solid coaching structure, SBW would be a gamebreaker. However, in yesterdays conditions he would of failed to make a dent. Look at Inglis with no space last year - bubkus. Great players still need space to operate.
Whatever money is going to SBW, i'd rather it go toward a coach like Bellamy. He will get the kids firing as well as recruit nuffs for peanuts who will doa good job filling in.
It's not just SBW's ability to take into account here.
We have a good crop of youngsters coming through and they will all grow a foot taller knowing they're running out next to Sonny Bill every week.
How many weeks will that effect last for ?
What if SBW does not make an impact many expect due to our team being in dissaray each time they are on the field ?
I'd love SBW at the Roosters, but in the current conditions, he would just be another problem (how long will it take him to start taking it to the media ?)
I would vote YES for SBW to come to our club. We need a match winner, a player with an x-factor.
Would we knock back a player like Hayne, Slater, Inglis, DCE, Foran, Carney (again) , Gallen or Tamou ????????

He'll have an impact before he even pulls on a red, white and blue jersey imo.
The bloke is a serious professional and just the way he trains will open the younger boys eyes up a bit.

Everyone keeps saying that Scummy Bill is a "winner" but apart from a premiership in 04 and a very minor bit part in the NZ world cup win, what has he actually won, apart from a few very dubious boxing contests??
Like most players he looks good when he has quality players around him, as he did in 2004 and when he plays for NZ. But if he comes to the Roosters, he won't have that luxury.
I suspect he will crash and burn at the Chooks, and if Nick P has his way, I have no doubt we will witness the carnage.
Like all other other overpriced Scumdog imports, he will disappoint.

Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.
