  • Train and Trial Players

TRAIN AND TRIAL SQUAD: Taylor Losalu, Max McCathie, Toby Rodwell, Lachlan Dooner, Rex Bassingthwaite, Cohen Dittman, Mikey Nassar, Zac Sarfati, Tyreece Tait, Benaiah Ioelu, Jake Elliott, Hugo Savala, Reece Foley

These are the train and trial players according to the telegraph. It looks like Hugo Savala is still with us, given our halves situation I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a run in first grade at some point, same with Jake Elliott

No surprise names there - all young talent that has come through the grades

Taylor Losalu could be a Terrell May replacement, am i right in saying he won NSW Cup player of the year?

He won the Roosters NSW Cup player of the year.

After Collins, Leniu, we do have a few Players who can play in the Frontrow
Whyte, D Va'a, X Va'a, Taylor Losalu and not far being Peter Benjamin Uini and Julius Mitchell who both played SG Ball and Flegg last year.

Of that list of 13 trial and train players Taylor(Frontrow) Max McCathie (2nd Row ) and Benaiah Ioelu
(Hooker) are forwards, the other 10 are backs
      Backs
4x who play in the halves,
      3 specialist fullbacks
      1 centre
      1 wing
      1 Centre /FB/ Wing

I think Nat Butcher plays prop next year and I'm here for it. not just for the tears it will generate on this place but also the humble pie I think he will dish up.

I actually don’t mind N.Butcher at lock - he is mobile and has a good offload.
But it’s a position with lots of competition, including Rads, Watson and Whyte

Except Nat had his offload coached out of him by our current NRL coach.

Yeh we are stacked for lock options. It’s the position I’m very interested to see what Robinson does with because there’s a very good chance a player you didn’t mention, Blake Steep ends up being a main stay there either in rotation with Watson/Whyte or as the genuine starter.

Nor you a fool. Butch hate is nothing more than ill informed hate.

Have a think about what ice cream you’d like with your humble pie next year.

Maybe time to bring it back now that May is gone

Fun stat, we threw the second most offloads this year. Only Parramatta averaged more per game.

I too enjoyed the shift in our football this year to some more enterprising play, players seemed to really enjoy their football this year. As part of that I enjoyed Crichton, May and the 2 Joeys playing with freedom in their offloading to combine for half our offloads. Now 3 of them are gone there might be a chance for Nat to improve on his 8 in 23 games.

I’m very happy to eat humble pie if Butch can elevate himself to be a decent prop. No hate at all for the bloke, I just think he’s a pretty average footballer who’s been favoured by the coach for a long time.

I don't think we got the balance right always nice to see free flowing attacking football but thought our offloads were ineffective against the better sides. Some off our offloads in the Penrith semi absolutely killed our momentum and resulted in unforced errors.

Offloads should be an outcome of dominating in the contact, an impulsive afterthought. Not something pre meditated which like I said, felt like we didn't always get the balance right in that space.
