    3-4 years time maybe
Teddy should get to 35 or so easily
    he was brilliant this year
maybe the bigger issue though is the back up as we have lost Manu and Suaali who both filled in who will it be next year if Teddy is injured or playing origin

It's like saying we should sign Jayden Campbell or Tyrell Sloan, both would be in the same position here as they are at their current clubs. Plenty of clubs in a position to offer them a first choice fullback spot.

None of them are going to come here for 2-3yrs to sit behind Teddy with no guarantees that they would get the position anyway.
I'll be surprised if Teddy plays beyond next season when his contract ends.

I'd be happy with either Fa'alogo or Papenhuyzen as Teddy's replacement.

I hope Teddy doesn't replicate Keary and play 2 seasons too long.

You gotta know when to fold them.

I'm not suggesting that Teddy needs to retire however he is getting closer to that point. It'd be worth considering Fa'alogo as a suitable replacement!

The kid is a gun and has plenty or raw talent. He could potentially play on the wing or in the centres before transitioning to fullback. Teddy would also be a fantastic mentor!
So why would he leave a club like the Storm & come to the Roosters to play Wing/Centre for 3 or 4 years when if it was just a case of playing either of those positions he’d stay at the Storm for 1 more year & then be FB like he wants when Paps goes.

I sort of agree. Yep he’s fit & healthy now but just can’t see that being the case in 4 years time. I’d rather retire a 9 or 10 out of 10 as opposed to hanging on & being a 6 out of 10. Anyone that’s played sport knows that after hitting 30 there is a drop in most areas being speed, fitness, endurance, timing etc. The drop hitting mid 30s is far bigger again.

Paps may take a pay cut and stay at the Storm. I don't think that he's committed beyond 2025 yet.

Where just dreaming while waiting for next season to roll around. Looking at potential signings helps the time pass and makes for good discussion.

Fark I miss watching the Chooks play.

Honestly as an endurance runner who's well and truely passed that stage, you don't lose your fitness during your mid-30's. A bit of your top-end power... sure, but not your fitness and endurance. Enough about me though, examples...

              - JWH played until ~35 as an enforcer. I'm sure he lost a percentage of his top-end power, but he was still very much our alpha male.

              - An aged Cronk with a broken collarbone still had better vision/strategy than anybody else on the field during the 2018 GF.

              - Mini captained us to a premiership a year before retirement and almost won another in his final year despite his well documented injuries. 'Till the end he was our fittest, most positive player on the field.

I just don't buy the theory that Teddy's shyte. The only real argument was whether it was fair to select him over Edwards, who'd won 3 B2B premierships and then won a 4th.

Teddy's a top-tier FB who's up there with Edwards. Ponga, Pappy, Trbo and... is Walsh still even in that list? Hynes, Edwards, RTS...? There's a few in that list who are questionable and Teddy's not one of them.

So long as he's fit, Teddy stays IMO... and right now he's the fittest bloke in our team (though admittedly only because Mini doesn't count).

Slater played past 35 and was still killing it......

I can't see why Teddy cannot play at close to his best until 34 at least and maybe 35.......
